"A Knack For Code"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Coding ruins countless lives every year. Don't let this happen to you.
He was born in the south
Had a silver abacus in his mouth
He was ugly as a toad
But the fella had a knack for code

Workin’ at Radio Shack
Found an old TRaSh-80* in the back
Wasn’t much but still it showed:
That kid’s BASIC** knack for code

Back at home, his Apple II helped him to hone
Nascent skills, minin’ the lode: his knack for code.

He grew up, got a job
In a cube where he lived like a slob
Makin’ money, oh how it flowed
Off the charts, what a knack for code!

But at home, his lonely wife wants to explode
She has needs, but he’s so cold (his crack is code)

“Take your stupid code - every line
Stick it all where the sun never shines!!!
Gonna head on down the road
Find a fresh iMac upload.”

Weren't the Commodore PET and Apple II out slightly before the TRS-80 as well as pc kits? I saw some of those at an electronics expo in '76 and was amazed. I used to toy around with P-Box kits and CB radios back then when technology arrived at a much slower pace; in fact, you could order electronic items right out of a Sears or Wards catalogue. You didn't have to rely on Radio Shack for everything.
