The Lyrics

We were discussing college on this site. (Or the lack of it) Here's my memories.
Got out of class 3:00 in statistics
Studying rates of probability
I was checking out the chicks on the campus
And the last hour left me suddenly

In the next class I sat through economics
Trying to pay attention, nicely making "Z"s
In the science class I B.S.'d the assignment
And in history, I realized this wasn't about me

Think about
Think about my future here
Find my call-alling
Gotta get a job real soon
Prices just ain't fall-alling
What tuition is getting me
Soon will be forgo-otten

I have been around this school
Trying to not be a fool
To get that big degree
And you know I will
And I hope I will

When I felt the sudden loss for the first time
I felt two thousand brain cells fade away
I was hoping it had nothing to do with
The case of beer I drank just yesterday

So I'm goin' tomorrow to more of those classes
What I'm gonna gain I'm sure that I can't say
And the knowledge that I'm gaining here is so small
But it's what I got to do, to get a job today

Think about
Think about my future here
Find my call-alling
Gotta get a job real soon
Prices just ain't fall-alling
What tuition is getting me
Soon will be forgo-otten

I have been around this school
Trying to not be a fool
To get that big degree
And you know I will
And I hope I will

So I cheated on the day we were tested
I'm amazed I didn't fail, it was the hardest thing to do
If only I had been more interested
I might have done a little more than muddle my sad ass through

Felt a sudden loss
We survived.

Good job on a tough song - and as you know I should know. Well done!

Hey Rick - you were kind enough to read, vote, and comment on my recent parody of Simon and Garfunkel’s “I Am A Rock” called “Leonard Played Spock”, so I’m inviting you to come on over and check out my new parody of “I Am A Rock” called “I Am A Chalk”:

I began college at age 28, and after baby number two. It wasn't easy, either.

Rick D - Glad I went and looked back a day. Yeah ("sigh", and I really did, too), that was me. Except in two years I completed maybe 20-25 units. Fortunately I was not as stupid and my grades might have indicated and I realized it wasn't working for me. Turns out "Working" worked for me. Much better. You and Johnny D have been taking me back to my old school days lately. WILL YOU BOTH PLEASE STOP THAT? IT WAS TRAUMATIC & INTELLECTUALLY SMOTHERING!! All kidding aside, that's a nice job on another Steve Stills/CSN number. Five's straight across from West to East.

Yes, I revisited this once more since I am looking at using the OS for a new parody. Still a great job on this, Rick...
