The Lyrics

This is my (late) entry to Meriadoc's 'Weird Parody Challenge Contest'. Apologies to those of you who aren't familiar with the original song, but I was introduced to it by an Aussie mate of mine and it fitted my idea perfectly. :-)
Ain't no shoddy mower peeled the turf away
Ain't no dodgy mower leaves this turf array

When the lawn is clover
Cultivate and slay
Hack, scythe, snag and hoe haste
Dig low, vine to tame
Bindi-i, the rootage growing bolder
Kill those scum, whilst soil, on it soldiers
Plough and prime, ol' bone and blood behold bouquet

New land primed, plan out site, set out sowing
Hope this crop-fest yields abundant harvest
I want plants that multiply on command
Walk around, the prickles cause a scandal
Callused feet in nothing more than sandals
Homely produce, taste is attest, I grant

When the corne is out
of Parc an Venton, then
Ripe 'n gold, a maize of cob, impressive glean
You and I, harvesting night and mornings
Bumper stake, I bask in all it's glory
Now casino beckons, tables, gonna play

Ain't nobody gonna steal this loot away
Ain't nobody gonna steal this loot no way
Ain't nobody gonna steal this booty cache

(Repeat and fade)

yeah, not Cold Chiesl's finest OS, but still it's Cold Chisel, and I've gotta give you 5s for that - nice wording too - 555
Peregrin - December 18, 2004 - Report this comment
I found this one to listen to. Well done Andy. I think I agree with the above comments, the OS is a little slow, you spiced it up and made it more Corny (haha)!

(PAV contest) Wow! Excellent use of internal rhyme. From the sown seeds a few earlier parodies you've reaped a grand harvest with this one! ;-)

I liked it... kinda found it hard to keep the pace of the original, but far and away better than that crap Khe Sanh parody, Well Done.
