Well the Devil went to the Ghetto,
he was looking for some soup to steal
He was in a bind 'cause he was way behind
and he was missin "Lets Make A Deal."
When he came across this young boy
eatin from a kettle and man it was hot!
And the Devil jumped up on a pickup truck and said, "man this stuff taste like snot"
"I guess you didn't know it, but I'm a kettle eater, too
"And if you'd care to take a dare, I'll make a bet with you.
"Now you eat pretty good kettle boy, but give the Devil his due,
I'll bet a kettle of Soup against your bowl 'cause I im hungrier than you."
The boy said, "My names Johnny, and it might be a sin,
"But I'll take your bet - your gonna regret
'cause Im hungrier then all your friends!"

Johnny clean out your bowl an' scrape that kettle clean
'Cause the Devils in the Ghetto an' man this boy is mean.
And if you win you'll get this shiney kettle full of soup,
but if you lose the Devil gets your bowl!

The Devil opened up his face, and he said "wheres the first bowl?,"
And fire flew from his big ol' lips as he ate all 14 bowls.
And he licked the bowl and licked his teeth and Johnny just looked real pissed,
Then The Devil said " Im done for now, now let me see you eat like this:

[music]

Now when he finished Johnny said,
"you, ate pretty good ol' son,
"But set right in that chair right there
and let me show you how it's done!"

Johnny clean out your bowl an' scrape that kettle clean
'Cause the Devils in the Ghetto an' man this boy is mean.
And if you win you'll get this shiney kettle full of gumbo,
but if you lose the Devil gets your bowl!

Soup from the mountains,
Wu Tang Chung!
The Devils in a House made of Ghetto Dung,
The Devils in the Bread Van screamin' Ghetto!,
Then he got a Dog Bite, NO DOG NO!

The devil bowed his head, 'cause he knew that he'd been beat,
And he laid that golden kettle on the ground at Johnny's feet
Johnny said, "Devil just come on back if you ever want to try again,
"I done told you once you son of a gun
Im hungrier then all your friends!"

And he played

Soup from the mountains,
Wu Tang Chung!
The Devils in a House made of Ghetto Dung,
The Devils in the Bread Van screamin' Ghetto!,
Then he got a Dog Bite, NO DOG NO!
