Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"Rounding Down To A Zero"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

A little late, but I got a two week Extension
Where are all my tax returns
Where are my receipts too
April 15th, two weeks past
My taxes are overdue
The extension time I got is soon running out
As I keep changing my numbers now
I finally shout

( Chorus )
I need a Zero
I'm rounding down to a zero so I can pay no tax
I need to deduct
So I would have enough
Because right now I don't have the cash

I need a Zero
I'm rounding down to a zero so I can pay much less
I'm writing every thing off
To lower overhead cost
And not get caught by the I.R.S.

It's getting near midnight
And I'm running out of time
My calculator is dead
As I'm slowly losing my mind
Erasing figures with my number 2 pencil
I've been up for 5 days and living off sure will

I go online, check all the tax return laws
As I race against this taxing clock
Using information made up by
H.R. Block

When I finally lick the envelope
And hear the mailbox close
Feeling good that I did
Not have to pay through the nose

Not a bad version to a song I loved from the 80s.

DKTOS but excellent parody

HA! I gotta say, a. I love parodies of this song, and b. I CAN RELATE... Last year was the first time I did any real tax return, and I stayed up all night deducting anything I could. I can see that pacing of the original is hard to get right, but you did awesome

Not sure on the pacing (have only heard a parody of this, not the actual original), but still funny lyrics.
