it was the third of June, another sleepy, dusty day
I was feeling rotten, while the cam'ra was ready
and at starting time, Tom propped, and prepared up ol' Joe's seat
and Jonah hollered from the baseboard, you'll remember to watch your feet
then Lee started off to pedaling' and he drive Joe over the bridge
that's when stupid Joe, the challenger, fell off and need a new hip

and John then said to Jonah as he lifted Joe up off his knees
well stupid Joe's done it again, yeah, the tape you have to see
the next thing was a trick recording on that cam'ra now
and Tom then said, you filming all this, Mike, as Joe got on the plow
then Lee removed the break pedals and so he started off the bridge
that's when stupid Joe, the challenger, fell off and he is now a stiff

and the cam'ra was reloaded as I watched Lee and Tom and stupid Joe
put a frog on down his back and then watch the young and poor boy go
and I think I was just re-loadin' when Joe and Lee had lost my sight
it seems that they had propped him up and were taking turns gouging out his eyes
then Lee hooked up electros and I was told to start filming
that's when stupid Joe, the challenger, had started up endless twitching

and Jonah said to Lee, man, lets make him eat up some head lice
I've been filming it all morning, and I think that Joe is gonna die
it is our feature, Joe's character he gets no say
even though he isn't moving and on the dirty ground he lay
lets pick him up and push his cart into a bunch of bushes
that's when Stupid Joe, the challenger, fell off the Tallahatchie Bridge

a year has come and gone since we started watching that dumb show
and Jonah, John, and Lee and Thomas had all watched the video
there was a tractor rolling 'round, threw Joe on it, and he crashed that thing
and now I still have the camera and I am still doing filming
but they still spend a lot of time filming their accidents
and threw ol' Joe into the water and now all he is is a dumb stiff
