Parody Song Title:

"Hunch"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

"Snapshots and Soundbites": a day in the life of the average politician. Just lookin' for some votes!
My "Polls" are up!
Sometimes they're down!
I'm a "Career Politician"
I'll rebound!
I'm gaining votes on a "Hunch"
Just get me in front of the media
And I'll "Eat My Opponent's Lunch!"

I can be charming
Or oh, so rude
So relatable!
Or downright crude!
I'm gaining votes by the "Bunch!"
Give me "Snapshots and Soundbites"
Watch me "Eat My Opponent's Lunch!"

"Smear Campaigns!"
No disgrace!
Look in your eye!
And "Lie to Your Face!"
Reduce my competitors to "Mulch!"
Give me "Snapshots and Soundbites"
Watch me "Eat My Opponent's Lunch!"

Yesterday, I submitted a parody called "Two Barbers in a Small Town." Admittedly, I didn't strictly follow the principle whereby the number of syllables in each line of the parody matched the number of syllables in the corresponding line of OS. Now in my case, the OS, "If You Wanna Be Happy," by Jimmy Soul, could be catalogued as a novelty song. With less of a focus on artistic excellence, it becomes more acceptable to slip a syllable or so. You write good parodies, but you have a tendency to parody with more syllables than OS. Sometimes removing syllable wasters would fix that. For example you match "I been good" with "Or oh so rude." "Oh" is a syllable waster, perfectly acceptable when you are under the target syllable count. But you were perfect without it. OS has 3 verses of 5 lines each. In OS, lines 3, 4 and 5 are identical. I like that you gave lines 3 and 4 different lyrics for each verse.
