The Lyrics

A real long time ago, an-i-mat-ed frame,
I used to follow, a show so insane,
Laughin' at the punnin', man that show was somethin'.
Wasn't 'bout a cat and dog, kept the funny pumpin', that crew,
Was Moose and Squirrel,
Loved that Moose and Squirrel.

Always was knee slappin', when news days were so slow.
Never once failed to deliver, It used to be my favorite show.
Boris with his gunsights open, tryin' to make our heroes fall.
Excitin' as poseidon, knowing that they brought their all to you,
Was Moose and Squirrel,
Loved that Moose and Squirrel.

And each September, you knew they would bring,

A brand new season to you with all the laughs, ta-da.
A brand new season to you with all the laughs, ta-da.
Ta-da da.

Now not so bright my day, now that it's no longer shown.
But hey, some reruns came my way, tripped my funny zone.
Bask in memories so fair, I just get overrun thinkin' em all through,
Laughin' off of my ass, collectin' the premium anew.
Ohhh Moose and Squirrel,
Loved that Moose and Squirrel.

Somebody gave you ones, so I tried to compensate. This could be a companion to my "Boris the Spy, Sir" for when we start putting our singles like in the old days. I'm a huge R&B fan

Thanks for giving me a lot of fun memories too, Guy. Great job.

David Letterman did a "Top Ten List" on March 23, 1993, called "Top 10 Signs Boris Yeltsin Is Cracking Under the Pressure".

Number 8 on that list is:

8. Keeps pounding desk with fists and screaming, "Kill Moose and Squirrel."

Nice to revisit that childhood place.

Had a couple stumbles on the pacing but otherwise a very clever parody :-)

Shameless self plug!

Rice - Your parody on the same subject was awesome as I see the voting. Unfortunately I don't know that song so I can't fully appreciate it but know that this one pales in comparison. Thanks RIce and thanks to all who voted and commented.

You can probably "borrow" the song from Kazaa, it's a very popular 80s tune :-) And your parody is nothing to hang your head about, I'm sure the votes will come in as people realize what a clever idea this is.
