Parody Song Title:

The Lyrics

The original song, Three Dog Night's "Shambala", is a flower-power call-and-response spiritual, centering on Shambala, the terrestrial Pure Land of the Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhists. The original song's music has an astonishingly emotional quality. What if the original song was re-written from the Buddhist tradition into the Christian tradition? Would the original music still have that quality?
I can see my Savior
Sorrow's in His eyes
On the road to Golgotha

I can see my Savior
Power's in His eyes
On the road to Golgotha

Hal-le-lu-hu-u-u-u-jah!
Yea, yea, yea, yea, yeah!
Hal-le-lu-hu-u-u-u-jah!
Yea, yea, yea, yea, yeah!

On a stone He stumbled
Sweat drips in His eyes
Out on the road to Golgotha

On a stone He stumbled
Blood's drippin' in His eyes
Out on the road to Golgotha

Hal-le-lu-hu-u-u-u-jah!
Yea, yea, yea, yea, yeah!
Hal-le-lu-hu-u-u-u-jah!
Yea, yea, yea, yea, yeah!

Carpenter Christ died
On the stones of Golgotha

Now does the Christ rise
Far above sad Golgotha

(instrumental)

A tortured frightened man
Feels the pain of human life
Out on the road to Golgotha

An' now God understands
All the pain of human life
Out on the road to Golgotha

Hal-le-lu-hu-u-u-u-jah!
Yea, yea, yea, yea, yeah!
Hal-le-lu-hu-u-u-u-jah!
Yea, yea, yea, yea, yeah!

Take His hand, you'll rise
Far above your Golgotha

(Tell me!)

Take His hand, you'll rise
Far above your Golgotha

Take His hand, you'll rise
Far above your Golgotha

(Tell me!)

Take His hand, you'll rise
Far above your Golgotha

Hal-le-lu-hu-u-u-u-jah!
Yea, yea, yea, yea, yeah!
Hal-le-lu-hu-u-u-u-jah!
Yea, yea, yea, yea, yeah!
Hal-le-lu-hu-u-u-u-jah!
Yea, yea, yea, yea, yeah!
Hal-le-lu-hu-u-u-u-jah!
Yea, yea, yea, yea, yeah!
Hal-le-lu-hu-u-u-u-jah!
Yea, yea, yea, yea, yeah!
Hal-le-lu-hu-u-u-u-jah!
Yea, yea, yea, yea, yeah!

Ashkicksass --- and everybody --- here is a free, excellent "karaoke" MIDI sound file of the original tune "Shambala":

NOTE: When you cut-and-paste that URL for the MIDI into your browser, be sure to remove the bogus hyphen-character " - " that Amiright introduces between the "ba" and the "la" in the word "Shambala". In other words, turn "Shamba-la" into "Shambala" in the URL after you paste it into your browser, and then it will work.

And here's another free audio sample of "Shambala" ..... this one's performed by Three Dog Night with The London Symphony.

Again, watch for and remove bogus hyphen-characters that Amiright will introduce into the following URL ...... The hyphen-characters you see here, in the URL as it's written in this comment, are correct and necessary, so compare how the URL appears in your browser with how it appears here..... any "extra" hyphens that appear in your browser's copy of this URL that do not appear in this comment's copy need to be deleted from your browser's copy:

Adagio: Thank you --- I'm glad the spiritual quality comes through ... this one's a rockin' gospel song I couldn't pass up!

alvin: Thanks --- I love a good foot-stompin', hand-clappin', head-tossin gospel song any old day!

Merry: Thanks for your comment! Feel free to vote, too, if you wish.
