Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

In loving memory of Dr. Seuss ...
I do not like Sam
Not that Sam-I-am
I do not like them green eggs and ham

If you're in a house
And with a mouse
Then would you like green eggs and ham?

( No! NO! NO! )

No Sam
No Sam-I-am
I don't like green eggs and ham

But if in a box
In a box with a fox
Would you desire
Green eggs and ham in there?

No no no, Sam-I-am
I'd rather eat some SPAM
I'd not eat them here
And I would not eat them there

Green eggs and ham
I don't like green eggs and ham
Green eggs and ham

No, Sam!

Green eggs and ham

I DON'T LIKE THEM!

Thank you, Adagio and mac!

For readers who might not recognize the original song's title "Baba O'Riley"......the original song is The Who's song that starts with the line "Out here in the fields", and that has as its chorus "Teenage wasteland....It's only teenage wasteland", which I parody as "Green eggs and ham....I don't like green eggs and ham".

Johnny, I'll trade you this plug today for two later and a second round draft choice. http://www.amiright.com/parody/misc/drseuss2.shtml Another example of our warped minds thinking alike. I'm still trying to come up with word twists as brilliant as yours

Thanks Alvin, JB, and Rick.

Rick, your trade is gladly accepted. You'll see I restored my previous vote on your brilliant Dr. Seuss parody. And be forewarned...if you seek to come up with word twists like mine...you'll have to venture forth into uncharted territory which on old maps would be labeled "Here Be Dragons"...except in your case, being a Scotsman and all, it'd be labeled, "Here Be Haggis".
Rick D - September 28, 2004 - Report this comment
Or Beer be Flagons. Scotsman like that, too

I don't know the original song at all, but I read it anyway and chuckled a bit. Nice job.
joe - October 04, 2004 - Report this comment
I enjoyed it too, despite the fact that I'm not familiar with the original either.

Thank you, Serafina and joe.

What about Rick D? He made a comment right before serafina made hers; looks like you overlooked his.

joe...look a little higher up, my friend..... ;-)

No way Johnny can snub me, Joe. We're way past that.

Heh heh. True story: A few months ago I had the brilliant idea to put the words of Green Eggs and Ham to the music of a popular song. For about a week I was obsessed with finding just the right song. And then I heard that Weird Al had already done it. (Damn Weird Al and his great ideas.) Clearly, grated minds think alike - nice work, Johnny Divine.

Thanks Spaff .... I think Weird Al did his parody to the tune of "Numb".
