The Lyrics

there's fightin in the streets,
in Basrah, there's defeat,
and the airborne' come to rid us of Saddam

with the rubble at our feet,
and victory is sweet
we pull down the statue, in the square

I tip my hat to the new coalition,
take a bow, they have done their mission
go out in the streets today
five times a day to pray
and won't get ruled again

the change it had to come
and he knew it all along,
but they blew up all his family, anyway
and we all come to be free
live life in liberty
and never ever want to bow again

I tip my hat to the new coalition,
take a bow, they have done their mission
go out in the streets today
five times a day to pray
and won't get ruled again

i moved myself and my family inside
hoping to be left half alive
I check the vapor trails in the sky
even though I am traumatized, I'll never die

nothing in the street looks any different to me
there's still iraqi guardsmen standing by
though there's whining on the left, we thank those on the right
and the years to come will prove that we were right

I tip my hat to the new coalition,
take a bow, they have done their mission
go out in the streets today
five times a day to pray
and won't get ruled again

I think you forgot a line here: "take a bow, they have done their mission go out in the streets today five times a day to pray and won't get ruled again"

Malcolm, fine job on a difficult song to use for a parody (since the original uses so much irony already). I would agree with Billy about the chorus missing a piece. It got me to creating my own version: "I tip my hat to the Bush coalition, Now get out, you've accomplished your mission, Watched my kids with their brains pouring out, Pick up my Koran and pray, Fifteen times a day, And then I'll get off my knees and say---We're totally screwed again!"

And you also forgot the "meet the new boss, same as the old boss" part. But good job anyway.

That's "Meet the new Bush, worse than the old Bush." Or do you really think Iraq is free? Ask a "liberated" Kuwaiti.
