The Lyrics

A dilemma that most of us face from time to time while surfing Amiright, reading a parody that might be good, but is difficult to judge because you don't know the original. Inspired by Sweet Indigo's comment on Snake's "Jesus" parody of "Angel" by the Corrs. (That's Snake, rather than Coral Snake.) Pronounce "the" before "original" as "thee".
One of the things which I like to do
Read parodies on Amiright
Will they catch my eye or will they slide on by?
Will some of them be outta sight?
They just mi-yi-yight
If I don't know th'original song, how
Will I know if it jives?
Would it be OK, or would it be wrong
If I still voted five?
Gave you fi-yi-yives

I said, I don't know the original
But I like this
I said, I don't know the original
But I like, still like your parody

Well I like it, oh yes
I like it, I like it, I said
It's too bad this young man's getting older

If I go click and read what you've sent
Written right there on the page
What if I don't know the original?
Would it help to wrack my brain?
Wrack my bray-ay-ain
If I move on and leave yours alone
Would you fly into a rage?
It would be no fun, if I gave you a one, well
Maybe I've just gone insane
I'm insay-ay-ane

I said, I don't know the original
But I like this
I said, I don't know the original
But I like, still like your parody

I admit that most songs that I know are oooooold, that's right
I get this funny feeling that I'm out in the cooooooold
Oh yeah

I said, I don't know the original
But I like this
I said, I don't know the original
But I like, still like your parody

I like it (no original)
I like it (no original)
Oh well, I like this (no original)
Parody, I like it (no original)
[repeat last two lines]
