Original Song Title:

"Let It Be"

Original Performer:

The Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"Thirty-Three"

Parody Written by:

Michael Pacholek

The Lyrics

Even "fair and balanced" Fox News has the bum at 33 percent: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,192468,00.html. But then, Fox is part of the untrustworthy mainstream liberal media elite, right? Right? Far right!
(piano intro)

Well, I see that Bush has got some trouble
other than from ABC.
His approval rating:
Thirty-three.

And in his hour of darkness
this poll don't come from NBC.
His Fox approval rating:
Thirty-three.

Thirty-three.
Thirty-three.
Thirty-three.
Thirty-three.
"Fair and balanced" rating:
Thirty-three.

And when the broken-hearted Blue States
get the Red States to agree
this will be their answer:
Thirty-three.
In two elections parted
but there now is chance that they will see:
Bush was not the answer.
Thirty-three.

Thirty-three.
Thirty-three.
Thirty-three.
Thirty-three.
Bush was not the answer.
Thirty-three.

Thirty-three.
Thirty-three.
Thirty-three.
Thirty-three.
"Fair and balanced" rating:
Thirty-three.

(instrumental break)

Thirty-three.
Thirty-three.
Thirty-three.
Thirty-three.
"Fair and balanced" rating:
Thirty-three.

And our future's cloudy.
And bin Laden's not in custody
because of Prez with number
forty-three.
I wake up to Iraqi news, sick.
Brother Georgie flops, you see.
He has got no wisdom.
Thirty-three...ee!

Thirty-three.
Thirty-three.
Thirty-three.
Thirty-three.
"Fair and balanced" rating:
Thirty-three...ee!

Thirty-three.
Thirty-three.
Thirty-three.
Thirty-three.
He has got no wisdom.
Thirty-three...ee!

(instrumental close)
If Faux News can't put him in the forties, which would still be a pretty sorry rating considering his "popularity," "decisiveness" and "Christianity," then what can he do? Don't answer that...

that's what the official polls say, but I have a sneaking suspician his true numbers are in the 20's. And I don't have a sliver of sympathy for those that so blindly voted for him x 2. Less than that for those that still believe every lie that comes out of his mouth.

too bad there ain't a law that we can boot 'em out if they get below 50 %...nice bashin'

Very funny, perfectly crafted, great concept... bedraggled protagonist... priceless!

Hm. Mike, I originally thought this was about someone's age...sample lyric, "33, 33, 33, 33, you're looking damn good for thirty-three!"...but this was quite the pleasant surprise! I personally think that if it ever gets to the point where a fifth or less of the country supports the prez, that should definitely be grounds for impeachment. But then again, a lot of people just hate Bush because it's supposedly trendy to do so. I HATE THAT. I want to make a shirt that says, "I hated Bush before it was cool."

Good use of inane OS. Follow-on to my comment at "32": Final song, when only 1% approve: "One Is The Lowliest Number" (3 Dog Night). Approval rating: 555

Tops marks not for humor, but for a factual political piece that refrained from name-calling. Darned fine pacing too, MP. If you're up to the challenge, you could make "88 lines why Bush's approval rating is 33%".

33% approval? I'm surprised it's that high...maybe something like:
Me, I'm lookin' forward to when
Approval drops down to three
It's still thirty points higher, guess we'll see
Well, I wonder what he'll do then:
Ninety-seven percent agree
He's a stupid liar, down to three
