The Lyrics

Um...just really impatient for the next Harry Potter film...you won't "get" much of this if you haven't read the books...
When I find that movies bring me no joy
What's "Hellboy" supposed to be?
I try to look forward
To Harry

Yes, just a month of waiting
And then I'll get to see number three
Featuring Dementors
Oh Harry

Number three
Of Harry
Filled with glee
Just to see
I'm getting impatient
For Harry

When movie goers don't want to see
"13 Going on 30"
They will find an answer
In Harry

Chris Co-lumbus has parted
Of a new director, I'm wary
He'd better do justice
To Harry

We will see
My Harry
Ron Weasley
Hermione
Three pre-pubescent heroes
Dear to me

In year three
There will be
Mystery
In a tree
Many explanations
For Harry

(instrumental)

While you'll see
No Dobby
There's Moony
And Trelawney
So many things to cover
In year three-eee

And when the night is boring
And the cinema won't call to me
I can read a volume
Of Harry

I wake up from of dream of horror
Bogarts jumping out at me
I know how to deal thanks
To Harry-eee

God-pappy
Who is he?
Could it be...
Oh, you will see
Oh there's so many answers
In year three-eee

Number three
Of Harry
Filled with glee
Just to see
I'm getting impatient
For Harry-eee

Arwen - you're right - haven't read the book, didn't get it, so I didn't vote. From what I've heard the Harry Potter stuff seems pretty cool.

I haven't read the book, but I know the song. Good job. :)

Good enough. Have some 5s ;-). By the way, to those who haven't read the books, *do*.

Thanks, nem...!! I couldn't agree with you more. Read them. And then read them again. And then...one more time wouldn't hurt you at all!!

Thanks, TTP & Kristof. If you've read any of my parodies before, you know this...but if not...I can tell you now I'm a bit obsessive about things. I'm sure these won't be the last HP themed parodies that I submit...especially in the next month or so. I don't know if I'll match my LOTR numbers...but I'm definitely in HP mode lately. Oh, and Kristof...GREAT idea...but now YOU need to write it. It's yours! =)

I'm a long time Potter reader....the new director is Alfonso Cuaron, who brought the world "Y Tu Mama Tambien" and "The Little Princess". The trailer promises a lot, and I hope he delivers on it...Chris Columbus is a hack. See my "Harry Potter's Lullabye" based on a Counting Crows song here: http://www.amiright.com/parody/90s/countingcrows0.shtml 545.

Agrimorfee...as an obsessive fan of the books, I worry before every film comes out. I worry when any film based on a book I love comes out. Yes...I've seen the trailer...repeatedly...and it does get me excited. And I've studied Cuaron's filmography...if one can say nothing else about me, I do my research. Book 3 happens to be my favorite, however...and I'm a little passionate about it. I HATE the fact that the film is just over 2 hours long. How can it be that much shorter than the two previous when year three covers so much more? That is where my wariness lies...I just don't want my (excuse the intermingling of my obsessions here) PRECIOUSSSS to be spoiled...=) And guess what...the Dursleys aren't even going to be in film 4! Explain that!!! I'm still fuming...
Agrimorfee - May 04, 2004 - Report this comment
Film 4????? Where can I find this info, please enlighten me.
Arwen - May 04, 2004 - Report this comment
Agrimorfee...I know I may be getting a little bit ahead of myself considering that film 3 hasn't even opened...but that's the kind of obsessive freak that I am. But they have just begun production of film 4...and yes...I'm finding out everything I can about it. Here are a couple of different links reporting that the Dursleys have been dropped from the Goblet of Fire... http://www.ananova.com/entertainment/story/sm_914986.html?menu=entertainment.films AND http://news.bbc.co.uk/cbbcnews/hi/tv_film/newsid_3607000/3607693.stm

UPDATE...(imagine when you were watching Unsolved Mysteries, and they would flash that word on the screen and it was SOOO great)...anyway...After having the IMAX experience over the weekend, I need to change the fifth line in the seventh stanza to "ZERO EXPLANATIONS" as Cuaron (which I have decided to pronounce SAURON) has left out 98% of the most important explanations in the Prisoner of Azkaban. Is a a cool looking movie? Sure. Is it fast paced? Yep. Am I one of those people who expects every single detail in a book to be converted to the screen? No. I do, however, expect the most important parts of a story to be told. Leave out a Quidditch match or two if you must...but tell the freaking audience who Moony, Padfoot, Wormtail, and Prongs are. If Flitwick HAS to suddenly be 40 years younger, and if there is extreme need for a new fat lady...then I will learn to adjust...BUT could they have been any more vague as to the history of the Sirius/Peter dilemma? I say No. Downplay the Crookshanks angle if you think it's best...but for the LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD IN THE WORLD...please allow Harry (and the movie goers) to understand the CRITICAL nature of his Patronus. I'm sorry. I'm just so upset. It could have been so much better...that's all I'm saying. Okay...michief (or, rather, extreme anger) managed...

Just reading my own tangent on this...I must have been really angry to throw down the word "michief."

Yowza...

I really have to start seeing some of these movies now =) Have to admit, 13 Going on 30, the one with the Alias chick, wasn't too bad.

I haven't read the book either, but thought it was a great parody. Ya know, I heard there's supposed to be a new HP book coming out in about three months or so.
2nz - April 18, 2005 - Report this comment
Hey, missed this one from way back when, so let me make up for that. Good parody, great rhymes. THere was some misplacement of accents a couple times, but I recognize that's an obsession of mine and I've also heard this song way too much by now.

Again, you and my sister have somethin' in common. She hated the third movie with a passion. I thought it was kinda dumb to 'downplay' the story, since there was a lot missing. I give the guy credit for doing a good job with the time-travel element and good cinematography, but it fell short of the Harry magic present in the first movie, to say nothing of how much it fell short of the 3rd book, which was also my favorite.

So... I guess I'd have to concur, fair elf-lady of Rivenwarts, I mean Hog-dell, I mean... you know what I mean.

By the way, I voted 5-5-5 on this one last Friday, in addition to commenting.

I'm not much of an HP fan myself, but decided to read this one anyway. To Josh 999: I believe the book that's supposed to come out in three months is called "HP and the Half Blood Prince" (or something of that nature). I heard about it too.
Joe - May 18, 2005 - Report this comment
Missed this one a year ago...great parody! =)

Now there's only two months until "Half Blood Prince" is supposed to come out. (Yes, Ellipsis, that is the correct title.)

How did I get so behind on the conversation on this parody? Sorry!!

Jeff...since writing this parody, I have seen 13 Going on 30...and you're right...it's not a bad flick. But that doesn't make me any less of an HP freak. =) Thanks for stopping by...5 months too late!

Josh...right you are...and thanks for the vote!

2nz...=) Of course I know what you meant. And of course we agree...great minds tend to do that...thanks!

Ellipsis...thanks for reading, even without a proper HP obsession...=)

Joe...58 days...but I'm certainly not counting...; ) Thanks!

Arwen....I hadn't looked at this one yet, mostly because I don't know a whole lot about HP, but I do know about the book that Josh, Ellipsis, and Joe made reference to in their comments. I know that it is supposed to come out tomorrow, which is my birthday!! (That's right, I turn the big three-O tomorrow!) Anyway, I just decided to read this one (after seeing it on the "latest comments" page) and vote 5-5-5 on it. :) =)

I think this parody is well written, and I love it, given that I am an HP fan. Good work.

Wow...this is awkward.

Um...basically, some imposter/ghost writer, who is MUCH more polite and on the ball than I am, left that thank you. I didn't. I think, in most cases when this happens, the imposter will leave a comment that might makes the actual person look bad...or...stupid...or something...so...I don't know that I should complain. But...I really didn't write that. I promise.

But I DO appreciate all of your kind comments. Honestly...I am just a slacker. I'm sorry!

And to whoever it was that left the 'thank you' on my behalf...thanks for getting my attention and getting my lazy ass over here. I appreciate it. But you can go ahead and comment under your own name from now on...and just say..."Arwen's lazy ass needs to get over here to thank her admirers." I'll get the picture.

Sister Evenstar: The same thing happened to me here:
http://www.amiright.com/parody/2000s/fiveforfighting12.shtml

I don't mind if someone steps in and answers questions for me when I'm too much of a procrastinator to do it myself. (In fact, I appreciate it, especially when the answers are correct.) Just don't pretend to be me. That's creepy. One of me is plenty.

As for the parody, it's awesome. I think. It's hard to say, though, because I'm not really into the whole Harry Potter thing. (Yeah, sorry. Go ahead and cross me off your list with a big-ass black magic marker.)
Arwen - September 30, 2005 - Report this comment
Well, it's nice to know that the most brilliant of us are on the hit list, Spaff.

But that doesn't change the fact that I am SO HURT that you don't love Harry Potter. I just don't even know if I can stand to look at you right now. Bastard.
