The Lyrics

Another X-Files parody: the midi is at http://www.midifilearchive.com/Rock-pop/stevemiller.html
His feet up, he wears no frown
He's got me grinnin'
Without sound
His sarcasm, how it flows
No expression, so it goes.

He is called Spooky by name
His partner is a dad-burned dame.
Dad-burned dame with hair of fire
I know baby, she wounds with the satire

Abra-abra-cadabra
Those small green men will grab ya!
Abra-abra-cadabra
Green men will grab ya.

Was this one caught, they do ask why
They make a gaffe, and I do sigh
But they are learning of above
Ain't much what they can speak of.

Abra-abra-cadabra
Those small green men will grab ya!
Abra-abra-cadabra
Green men will grab ya.

There is some logic in their assess
Seems like magic if green men possess
Hold that bat now, has man-sized face
With scant clues they pursue a case.

There is logic in Gov.'s lies
But there's some tragic in their eyes
Just when Fox thinks he's gonna find a way
He hears those words that are meant to slay.

Abra-abra-cadabra
Those small green men will grab ya!
Abra-abra-cadabra
Green men will grab ya.

It's futile to solve this game
It's simply a doggone shame
That Fox Mulder did retire
Hear the baby, see the stakes get higher.

-instrumental-

Up he goes, the ship's around
They stretch his face all up and all down
Up he goes, the ship's around
They drill his nostrils all the way down
Up he goes, the ship's around
They drill inside his mouth, makes me frown.

- spooky alien spaceship instrumental ending -

Hey FOLKS, this one's a scream if you listen to it along with the MIDI - the great pacing makes for a hilarious effect! 555

Thanks so much, Johnny! :D

Another X-Files! Always a favorite topic. Well done, Pat. You are fast becoming the X-Files expert on this site.

Thanks, Guy!! :D

Good job! I liked the X-Files (until the last season, anyway). This also explains what happened to Steve Miller.
Adagio - March 07, 2004 - Report this comment
Thanks, Mari. Yea...they should never have taken out DD.
Paul Robinson - March 07, 2004 - Report this comment
Adagio - "X"-cellent. But I think Duchovny took HIMSELF out, didn't he? Yeah, it went WAY downhill after he left...
Guy - March 07, 2004 - Report this comment
Absolutely, there is no show without Spooky Mulder.
Cigarette-smoking man - March 07, 2004 - Report this comment
I'm offering you a chance to know the truth.

In exchange for what?

Quit the FBI, come work for me. I can make your problems go away.
Mulder - March 07, 2004 - Report this comment
I am alarmed that you would reduce this offer to a cultural stereotype. Not everybody's dream is to get on Jerry Springer.
Adagio - March 07, 2004 - Report this comment
Thanks Paul...he probably did take himself out. It's not the same..:( Thanks "cast" of X-Files, for the comments.

By the way, I forgot to say, it was a really good parody of my song (even if the time frame is incorrect). I give it 5,5,5. Nice job!

Youre welcome, adagio. Seems like I made a comment yesterday but for some reason it's not there anymore? ???
Adagio - March 08, 2004 - Report this comment
Thanks, Diva!

Steve Miller...I don't know what happened to your comment of yesterday, it must have been one of those taken out when the spammer was taken care of. I appreciate your coming back! :D
Steve - March 08, 2004 - Report this comment
No, I saw that it was still there this morning, but in the afternoon I noticed it was gone. Maybe it got taken out by mistake?
Well, I guess it doesn't matter too much anyway.

I'll probably be berated mercilessly for admitting this, but I've never watched the X-Files. Still, I *do* KTOS, so I can see how well it's paced. And stuff like "dad-burned dame" and "green men will grab ya" works in any context. Good job, Patagio.
Adagio - April 08, 2004 - Report this comment
Thanks, Spaff! Shows like X-Files are not everyone's cup of tea, but I like sci-fi stuff.
neminem - April 11, 2004 - Report this comment
Funny for a sci-fi fan like myself: actually never seen the X-Files. Don't know the original either. Still moderately funny guessing at context.

We heard you were having problems with "little green men" on this thread,so we would like all of you to look at this small lighted device just-like---so !now what you saw before was just the circus coming to town with their new act,the all-midget tumbling troupe of hulk impersonators that go by the name of "probe 5" . Those three "5's" on your score card ? Please ignore them

Adagio, great job, I already voted earlier, I'm doing the March SOTM thing now.

Steve Miller - October 13, 2004 - Report this comment
Yeah...seven months ago I had made a comment saying that the original is from the 80s not the 70s. (I should know, since I recorded it.) But that little flub is minor.
By the way, I notice that lots of other people commented but there's only 4 total votes? How could that be?

Good song...I thought a syllable was missing from one of the lines in the chorus, maybe I'm remembering it wrong (substituting "little" for "small" would fix it...if it's even an issue)

Thanks Johnny and Jeff.

(Sci-Fi) Still like this one, it's very good. Still think show went way downhill after Duchovny left it, too. 5's on the re-vote since my earlier ballot got flushed in the "Great amiright Vote Tabulation Disaster of 07/28"....

Yeah, I was confused when I saw this in the seventies section. Yes, I know it's an eighties song, but it was probably an honest mistake by the author. I ain't gonna fret over something so trivial like that; I'll just give this parody a perfect vote because it's good, like everyone else said. (I, too, am an X-Flies fan by the way.)
