The Lyrics

I hate this song. Parodying a song you hate is the ultimate revenge. Please excuse the politically incorrect line in the chorus. I'm sure Guy would approve.
Your everlasting sale, you can see it fading fast.
So you grab a little something and you know the die is cast.
Well, you went and grabbed a diamond, you were caught with the red hand.
And now you're gonna go to jail, and why, you understand.

Are you stealing stuff at Sears? Will you now be doing time?
Will guys be making you some queers? Why did you get out of line?
Are you stealing stuff at Sears? Will you now be doing time?
Will guys be making you some queers? Why did you get out of line?

You've been shoplifting department stores since you were seventeen.
You go to JCPenney and think that you'll get away clean.
The weekend there at Macy's didn't work out like you planned.
The things you pass for street-smarts, I just don't understand.

Are you stealing stuff at Sears? Will you now be doing time?
Will guys be making you some queers? Why did you get out of line?
Are you stealing stuff at Sears? Will you now be doing time?
Will guys be making you some queers? Why did you get out of line?

I spent a lot of money to keep you from doing time.
The lawyers that I got for you to cover up your crime.
After all the things you've done you still want free stuff in your hand.
Why you don't just fraud some credit card, I'll never understand.

Are you stealing stuff at Sears? Will you now be doing time?
Will guys be making you some queers? Why did you get out of line?
Are you stealing stuff at Sears? Will you now be doing time?
Will guys be making you some queers? Why did you get out of line?

This is like Deja Vu, didn't I read this last month?

Wild Man-I thought the same thing, that I had seen this before, but maybe Michael can shed some light; regardless, I think it's good; and Wild Man, on the "Room Full of Monkeys/Claude" thing, you had a little esp? You're pretty tuned in-I better watch my step

Merry and Pippin did "Stealing Things From Sears" a few months ago. Completely different, though. Wait a minute, no it wasn't. But since Michael apparently works at Sears it's safe to assume he was bound to think of this one eventually. Oh yeah good job.

I just saw the Merry/Pip version. How can I put this politely?... I can't. I think mine's way better, but since I appear to have unconsciously copied the idea, I figure I don't have the right to give yours a bad vote.

Well I like them both! And i have scored it well, accordingly. I have no problem that both exist. I am not sure who Michael is referring to in his above comments, but if it is in reference to the 1-1-1 it did not come from me, and I am sure it would not have come from Merry. Sorry for this level of detail, but I felt that the above comment left no choice but to clarify the point. Some clarification would however be nice!

And I thought _I_ was supposed to be the feisty one! :-o I never voted on this at all. I think I only voted a couple yesterday (altho' I read half a dozen) because I was too tired to comment and I like to comment on most I vote for... I was going to pop back in but never got around to it... Okay, I am voting now... 5-4-4. And of course, ours is MUCH better... ! ;-D
