The Lyrics

This is my most solom parody to date. In light of the recent event of the kidnapping and murder of 11 year old Carlie Brucia. This horrable event tookplace a meer 50 miles from my home. It was a shattering event for any parent that followed the news in recent weeks. Florida communities were so devistated and shocked by this senseless act , that the local news carried a live telecast her memorial service.
Angry-- Angry--Why will those crowds all disappear
Angry-- Angry--Why must our children live in fear
When you live your life for coke
Got no money- can't buy dope
Why'd you mame a precious child
Angry-- Angry--Now you ended you own life

Angry--You druggie fool
Pain has struck us nationwide
Angry-- Angry--Remember-- all the hearts that cry
All the screams she muttered woed
Will come to haunt you, when you roast
Let me tell my biggest fear
Angry-- Angry--There's more of you-- everywhere

Oh-- I'm so angry, I must weep
'Cause the children are so meek
Parents open up your eyes
Angry--Angry--victims really have no rights
There's no love for demon souls
When odd fantasies unfold
And a child meets demise

Carlie--was but a baby
She walked alone and now shes' died
There's only enough prisons to hold a few
Are we lazy or unwise
Angry--Angry--Again they take another life
But, Carlie--Carlie-- They won't say we never tried

I voted all 5's I'm substuting profound for funny and applying a 5 to that. Sugest voters treat the funny category as profound and vote your heart.

This is well done Diva and a sad tribute to a beautiful child. I'm glad that it is the Florida justice system that is dealing with that scumbag because of it's fine record of making sure people who do this sort of heinous crime never do it again. I know how the parents feel and I cried for them. I too had a daughter taken from me. Thanks for writing this.

I'm also substituting profound for funny and giving this 5's. That line "Parents open your eyes", is so true. It's something that I want to tell all parents. This parody was needed - thanks! (welcome back)

Thank you both for your supportive comments.
Guy, I whole heartedly agree with your view. Hopefully, changes will be made to make things safer, especially for children. Your daughter is in my thoughts and prayers, always.
Pat, thanks for you continued support and encourgement. I've been away from the site a very long time, hopefully next post will be on a much brighter note. =)

Welcome back Diva; powerful stuff here. My favorite line, though, was "There's only enough prisons to hold a few " , which is sad but true. Hmmm...perhaps if they weren't filled with nonviolent drug offenders there'd be room for real criminals. Anyway, well done; say hi to Wild Man for me.

Diva - Very nice work...I also expand the "Funny" category when judging works with a serious theme like this. This story was so sad and disheartening that I'm really glad someone expressed their feelings. It allows all of us to lose a little of the emptiness a tragedy like this engenders. Thank you...

My prayers for Carlie Brucia's family, and also to Joe Price...that he begs for mercy before he gets a lethal dose.

Thank You Rick, Paul & Jonathan. The Suspect's name is Smith. He has a violent history, as well as, drug abuse issues.
He was aquitted of a case when he grabbed a woman an jumped on her in the early 90's. She was freed when a car stopped to assisit her. Smith claimed that he was saving her from walking into traffic. In a news interview she states that she was clearly attacked by Smith.
Recently Smith pleaded no contest and spent a year in Jail for beating a woman with a motorcycle helmet.

Diva,on a personal note,I want to say that this is not only well written, but just really drives the message home.I wasn't expecting such a "shocker". :-) I've lost two children,so it just really reached out and grabbed me. (I think you already guessed the 5's,lol..) I like your work.Glad I stumbled across this site. Thx for sharing..

Thanks Tim. It's nice to be back!
Thanks Birgitta. It's very nice to make your aquaintance. I am so very sad to hear of your loss. I have not lost a child myself, but have had many friends and aquaintances that have experianced this. A Random act of violence, unfourtunately adds another horrable facet to this pain. Many of us have sadness to share, as well as humor . Hope we will meet again on a happier occasion. And Thank You for sharing.
