Song Parodies -> "Busyness"

Original Song Title:

"Short People"

Original Performer:

Randy Newman

Parody Song Title:

"Busyness"

Parody Written by:

Adagio

The Lyrics

"Definition of busyness: noun: the state of being or APPEARING to be actively engaged in an activity". (I don't mean people that are really busy or are businessmen/women)
Busyness is in fashion
Fussbudgets got no easin'
"Busy" people got their reasons
To give.

They got settled plans
Shuttle-wise
They walk around
Thinkin' they're big guys
They have little dozes
Instead of restful sleep
And give platform views
'Bout their puffy little feats.

I don't need no fussy people
Don't need no fuss people
Don't need no fuss people
In here.

Busyness peeps must have fame
"More plans!" they cry.
(I do ask them why)
But then they've druthers
And they say "I must fly".
(Get a wonderful world.)

Busyness does embody
Busyness does embody
Busyness does embody
All of.

Say, got your weaknesses pegged.
Bet you don't know,
Are B-U-S-Y, yup
Bein' Und'r Satan's Yoke.
Got a petty cause,
And say "See, see, see."
They got many voices
Sayin' "Keep, keep, keep"
They got teacup little fingers
And one track little minds.
I'm gonna get out every time.
I don't want no "busy" people,
Don't want no fuss people
Don't want no fuss people
Too near.

DKTOS, so no vote, but according to VH1 ( who is ALWAYS correct on "facts" ), it is illegal in the state of Maryland to play this song over the radio. :)

Red Ant...

It is illegal for the short people song to be played over the radio in Maryland? That violates first amendment rights!!

Pat, well I couldn't find anything to fuss with about this parody...except that I was too busy today to get around to looking at it until almost time to head for bed. Now I'm busily digging up some '5's' to post here. Nice job...

I just saw VH1's 100 one hit wonders and this ( TOS ) was in there. On the bottom there was a blurb about how it is illegal in Maryland to play this. There are many odd rules on the books, like how it is still technically illegal in Georgia I believe to say " Oh, boy ", because thats what people used to call African Americans back then when they wanted their services. Besides, for every law made there are almost atleast a dozen exceptions to said law ( 1st ammendment doesn't protect you if you yell "FIRE" in a crowded theatre when there is none, for example ).
