But the trick to keep the cruising safe is simple it can be:

Now keeping watch is duty of seafarers everywhere
And sleeping in the lulling boat is pain when you are there
So when the night has fallen and the only light is stars
Your duty is to steer the boat, not hang out in the bars

And when your watch is over, then go straight there in your bunk
Just try to sleep whenever you have obligations done
Just learn to take a catnap, and sleep whene'er you can
You're little use when tired and you risk your fellow man -
