The Lyrics

Written Oct. 17, 2001.
The bastard's hiding in a cave reportedly
Getting him is easy if we aim sporadically
And bomb his bases til they're nothing but debris
There must be fifty ways to kill Osama

We know his body soon with worms will be imbued
Furthermore we will enjoy it when our enemy's subdued
So we repeat ourselves, and we hope he's listening too
There must be fifty ways to kill Osama, fifty ways to kill Osama

Just blow up the cave Dave, make a good plan, Stan
Don't take him alive, Clive, just pump him with lead
Fire the guns, son, we'll push all the buttons
Just drop all the bombs, Ron, deliver his head

And yes, it grieves us so to see our buildings gone
But in the absence of these symbols our nation still lives on
He doesn't appreciate that, so we'll have to explain about our fifty states

They said, "why don't we all just bomb him through the night"
And so we did and by the morning, he'd begun to lose the fight
We have the numbers and the arsonal... we damned sure have the might
There must be fifty ways to kill Osama

Just blow up the cave Dave, make a good plan, Stan
Don't take him alive, Clive, just pump him with lead
Fire the guns, son, we'll push all the buttons
Just drop all the bombs, Ron, deliver his head

Well done, Melhi - when you wrote this parody two years ago, one would have thought that by now, worms would be imbuing Osama's body.

Really really well done...and also, what John Jenkins said :-)

Thanks Charlie! John, thanks to you, too -- and sorry I didn't see your comment, sooner. Yep, I think a lot of us called that one wrong.

Melhi, I'm wanting to catch up on your parodies from the past few weeks. I guess this isn't one of them, but what the hell. 555.

Thanks Spaff! I think I have put up only two since you left, titles are "Living" and "Latrine Hymn" (Re-reading to make sure I read it right -- Woo Hoo! Somebody's purposely checking for my stuff!!)

(123) And it's still good . . . it's now three and a half years later and Dubya still hasn't gotten him - the guy has a cell phone for crying out loud. Nice write. bob

(123) Passionate and well-delivered, Melhi. bob --- remember --- Oceania and Eurasia and Eastasia always needed an enemy.

Thanks Kristof and sorry about forcing you to endure the torture of a theme that's not your cuppa Agrimorfee.
Phil Alexander - March 14, 2005 - Report this comment
Every bit as good as Ray Stevens' take on the same tune and theme. But I bet he made more money out of it ;-)
Melhi - March 14, 2005 - Report this comment
Thanks Phil! I'll have to look for that Ray Stevens song, I didn't know it existed, but the title rhyme's so obvious, I'm not surprised. :)

P.S. to Phil. Found it... as with most of the big-name parody artists, if he'd submitted his text-only lyrics here, he'd have been lucky to pull a 3 on pacing. :) Very cool hearing someone else's take on the same song/theme. Thanks for letting me know it was out there waiting to be found!

Thanks Jeff! Better late than never! (Plus, this way, your ratings weren't wiped out in last summer's big Oopsie. :) )
