The Lyrics

Liberals in the Administration and Congress tell us they know what is best for us, and we should shut up and stand aside. I see a parallel with what the 19th-century US government did to native tribes. That was expressed so well in protest song. I hope that we never need to sing this parody of it.
They shook the whole land-of-free nation,
Cast aside our Declaration,
Sent astray our ways of life,
Traditions mocked amid growing strife.
From the fray sour hate-speech wrung,
They taught shared Spanglish to our young;
And all the goods we'd made with ease
Are nowadays made overseas.

We were free people, cherished no lie,
Showed how to live, showed how to die.

They took this bold Jefferson nation,
Blocked us, promised preservation.
Though we share each hurt in stride,
We're still part freemen deep inside.

We were free people, heritage wide.
So how'd we live? For doubters died.

But maybe someday when they learn,
Land-of-free nation will return, when we burn;
Will return, though they spurn, will return.

Great twist on a great protest song. Look at what happened to people whose entire existence was federalized a century or more ago. That's the fate in store for all of us.

Incredibly done! I share your sentiments, but then Kentucky WAS originally part of Virginia. ;D

I wish I'd titled this "Heirs to Free Nation". Patrick: That fate is coming unless we "burn" now in Town Halls and the 9/12 marches to come. OMR: Virginia would like to claim you!

Good parody and a good message. People need to open their eyes. Always liked this song, I was going to do something with this OS but now I can't remember what.

The Native Americans' Revenge: Watching Wachichu [1] do to themselves what they did to the locals? Let's all let the Gov know our masuwakan [2] are loaded and ready, so should they try anything, Wakantanka [3] help them. Brilliant to find the parallel (the first? Congrats!), brilliantly executed. 555+++

[1] White people
[2] Guns
[3] God

Just a few words of Lakota (Sioux) picked up from watching "Dances With Wolves" (not to be confused with B. Clinton's biopic, "Dances With Pigs"). (English isn't the only language for which I have a passion. I wish I could speak them all. I'm weird that way.)
