Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"How Not to Sing "Blackbird""

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Went to see Paul McCartney a few weeks ago. One of the highlights of the show was a tender rendition of "Blackbird"; another was a show-stopping mega-bombastic version of "Live and Let Die" with more pyrotechnics that would be seen in all the Bond movies combined. And so, for parody purposes only we will now turn "Blackbird" into the showstopper, and make "Live and Let Die" the heartfelt ballad. And so, ladies and gentlemen, if I may direct your attention to the center ring ..
When you were young and your wings were but broken tools
You used to sing in dead of night
(you know you did, you know you did, you know you did)
But with this ever changing bird to which we listen
Makes you give it a try (da da daa)

To learn to take flight (CAW! CAW!)
To learn to take flight (CAW! CAW!)
To learn to take flight (CAW! CAW!)
To learn to take flight (CAW! CAW!)

(DA DA DAA! Da da daa! da da ... DA DA DAA! Da da daa -- DA! DA! ...)

What are you waiting for, ya
You've waited all of your life
The moment has arrived
You gotta fly into the dark NIGHT!

(DA DA DAA! Da daa da! da da ... DA DA DAA! Da da daa -- DA! DAA! ..)

When you were young and your eyes were but sunken orbs
You used to sing in dead of night
(You know you did, you know you did, you know you did)
But with this ever changing bird to which we listen
Make you look 'round and see (Da da Da)

It's time to break free (CAW! CAW!)
Time to break free (CAW! CAW!)
Time to break free (CAW! CAW!)
Time to break free (CAW! CAW!)

(DA DA DAA! Da da daaa, da da ... Da da daa, da da daa -- Da DAA! ....)

(Thank you very moach, ladies and gentlemen . and now Paul would like to slow it down with this little tribute to Ian Fleming and his novel "Live and Let Die")

Young heart reading like an open book
Change your tender words from "live" to "die"
With changing times
You have just been waiting, give this switcheroo a try

Young heart reading like an open book
Take your given task and do it well
All your life
You have just been waiting give the other guy some hell

Live. Let. Die.
Live. Let. Die
Live. Let. Die.
Time to give in to this world and cry

Live. Let. Die
Live. Let. Die
Live. Let. Die
Time to give in to this world and cry

Young heart reading like an open book
Change those hokey words from "live" to "die"
In changing times
You have just been waiting, give this switcheroo a try
You have just been waiting, give this switcheroo a try
You have just been waiting, to give in to change and cry

I get the concept, so 555... but the second half just didn't seem as good as the first half IMHO. No criticism intended, it just didn't do anything for me. I know that I also have that problem with some people here when I use Milspeak or talk of tech or other odd topics that others cannot relate to (lack of experience or comprehension) or find abhorrent like Nazi stuff and militarism, death and violence. It is true that you can't please all the people all the time, but you do good work CML and I especially enjoy your Islamic parodies filled with information that is far more relevent today than ever, not just a past time hobby for historians or interpreted "signs of the times" for Biblical scholars of the latter times. Keep up the good work :)
