The Lyrics

I'm at, and

Despite all his controversies, and all the negative things that clouded the later years of his life, his unexpected and sudden death is beyond newsworthy--and his contributions to the music industry will never be forgotten. Let us not forget, two of the biggest hits--including the hit that got me into parody--of Weird Al were parodies of Michael Jackson songs (Beat It and Bad--the latter (Fat) was the first parody I ever heard). . .RIP MJ. . .
Mike, Hope you're at peace for ever more
We did not expect this-that's for sure
Back 'fore I was fully grown
When your hit songs came on
I got in to your beats
Thriller, Bad, Billie Jean
(Thriller, Bad, Billie Jean)

Mike, you messed up a lot ev'rywhere
But when you performed I still liked to hear
(liked to hear)
Though I may have been unkind
Your scandals shook my mind
There's one thing we all know
You rocked the microphone
(you rocked the microphone)

There Rock With You, and then Scream
Startin' Stuff, P.Y.T.
(There Rock With You, and then Scream
Startin' Stuff, P.Y.T.)

Mike, You were great back in the day
At your peak, your stuff blew me away
But one thing we know is true
No one was quite like you
The King of Pop is dead
Now "Ben" is stuck in my head head (my head) head (my head)

A sad depressing original song (Which is about losing a friend, which fits all too well with this topic because Michael Jackson was a friend to the music world). Yesterday was a very sad day for the music industry... And thanks again helping me with my "Rest In Peace" parody

R.I.P. Michael Jackson! He will be missed! Great tribute you wrote for the King of Pop! The first time I heard about his death, I was crying buckets because he had always been my fave pop artist starting when I was a toddler. The first MJ album we owned was "Thriller". I was dressed in black yesterday and today and I'll be dressing in black all week, mourning for his death! (T T) He will always be in our prayers! (sobbing, sniffling): Michael Jackson not only healed the world with his songs, but he had healed our hearts as well! You wrote such a very touching parody and you chose a perfect song for his tribute! And not only did Weird Al performed great MJ parodies, your MJ parodies also rocked as well when you sang them. Maybe you can do a recording for this? You and Matthias made a great team too. 5's for condolences!

This OS is about losing a friend? I thought it was about a rat. Not kidding.

Either way, this was a nice tribute, BAD. I've said it spite of everything, I loved Michael Jackson. I'm still in more than a little bit of denial about his death, really. =(

Thanks everyone, for those interested, I have already recorded this and sent it to David Tanny who is doing a tribute show. My show will have a unscheduled tribute playing my recording of this song which will debut here on Monday. . .I will also play "Bowl It", "Wannabe Breaking Something", Merry & Pippin's "Hens" and Matthias' "Men in Black", Weird Al Yankovic's "Eat It" and "Fat" and of course the songs that inspired them. . .

Thank you very much Matthias and Mark, Christie Marie Me: I know I was shocked too--I remember his tribute to music, his contributions more than his scandals--thank you for your compliment, Arwen--I didn't know that either, thank you very much, and agree whole heartedly--like most parodists I've had my subtle stabs at MJ in the past, but today I couldn't possibly do that, it's a sad day for music. . .

Even if you left Michael, you'll still be in our hearts, and you're still a legend to us all. We might say it is a big loss to see you pass away, but I call it a job well done, for all the children you inspired with your songs...

One (of many) MJ songs that I really can't abide... a good tribute, BAD (hey... have you done that as a parody, yet?)
