The Lyrics

Behold: one of the few things that actually get me legit pissed off!
My brain's really fry-y-y-y-yin', buddy
Fryin' cause no-one's thinkin' all tha-at mu-uch
"Let's throw a few shrimp on the barbie"
Come on, let it stop, ooh
We call them prawn, oh yeah
We call them prawn, so sto-op, buddy
We call them pra-a-a-a-a-awn, not shrimp
We call them pra-a-a-awn, ooh-hoo-ooh

We're i-intelligent people
But you still use the-e "shrimp on barbie" bollocks (oh-oh)
One web search, you'll see (ooh-ooh-ooh)
That's far from the truth
O-Of all the foo-ood I ea-ea-eat
Barbecu-ued prawn is not o-o-o-o-one
Ge-en'rally barbecue bee-eef, chicken, sometimes po-ork
And I crumb sea-eafood, yes, buddy

Sure, some other Aussies might barbecue prawns, but see-ee-ee
That's not the point, buddy, it's how it repea-ea-eats
Ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Not that clever, you sound like a dou-ouche
When it's said, buddy, ooh-ooh
So please stop, please stop, please stop, please stop, please stop buddy
Stereotype's not tru-u-ue, mate, aah-aah

Call them prawn (ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh) (oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-ooh)
They're friggin' prawn (oh-oh)
Really-y-y wish you'd cut it ou-out
Come o-on, buddy, he-ey, he-e-ey
Swap your words around, don't be a to-otal putz
We call them pra-awn, ooh-ooh
Not shrimps, they're pra-a-awns, buddy
I'm si-i-i-ick of you all gettin' it wrong
Plea-ea-ea-ea-ea-ea-ease, we call them prawn

Surpri-ised thi-is "sa-ayin'" is still goin' o-on
Are you, bu-uddy?
No, you're not, cause if you were, you would sto-o-op
And quickly, woo
It's gettin' obno-oxiou-ious, only funny to you-ou
And more dumb dudes, buddy, woo
No more, no more, no more, no more, no more, stop it
It's not ironic, du-u-u-u-u-u-ude, hey

Cause we call them pra-a-a-a-awn (hoo, hoo)
Threat'nin' you, buddy (hoo, hoo) if you refuse to stop (hoo, hoo)
In fact, all the "buddy"'s might be wro-ong (hoo, hoo)
If you don't shut up, dude (hoo, hoo), what we had was good (hoo, hoo)
Don't let it crash down (hoo, hoo)
Oh, we got o-on (hoo, hoo) quite well, "buddy" (hoo, hoo)
Don't screw it up cause you (hoo, hoo) won't let this "joke" die (hoo, hoo)
Hey he-ey (hoo, hoo)
Man, I know I'm repeati-i-in' (hoo, hoo)
But loo-ook (hoo, hoo), get it into your mind (hoo, hoo)
Please just try, buddy-y-y (hoo, hoo)
Nothing really wro-ong (hoo, hoo)
With diff'rent topics, plea-ease (hoo, hoo) use a diff'rent joke (hoo, hoo)
Oh buddy (hoo, hoo), we call them prawn (hoo, hoo)

It took me so long to find a video of this song to listen to (as much as I actually like Charlie Puth's "Marvin Gaye", Youtube's just drowning in copies of it) that I wasn't in the mood to keep up to my usual "use ALL the lyrics, no matter how in the background they are" standards.

for some reason I just got this weird mental image involving Deacon & Kelly from "King Of Queens" 5's
