Mark Sanford, governor of South Carolina, admitted to disappearing for 5 days to carry on an affair with his Argentinian mistress while claiming to be hiking the Appalachians. Someone (see also Wife) tipped a reporter to go check out the Atlanta airport to see what they could see and walla -- Mr. Stanford returning from Argentina. Well, it didn't take long for him to call a press conference and admit to everything. Here's his story in one of the most parodied songs on this site :)
