Song Parodies -> "Stairway to AC/DC"

Original Song Title:

"Stairway to Heaven"

Original Performer:

Led Zeppelin

Parody Song Title:

"Stairway to AC/DC"

Parody Written by:

Chris Bodily TM

The Lyrics

Although Led Zep has "Stairway to Heaven" and AC/DC has "Highway to Hell," this actually came from the line, "There's a sign on the wall." AC/DC released an album called "Fly on the Wall." Then I figured I could throw in as many AC/DC references as possible, including the lyrics from "THose About to Rock" and "Highway to Hell." Enjoy and plug in!
There's a rock band you know
From a land known as "Oz"
And they're riding the Highway to Hell
"You Shook Me All Night Long"
"Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
Then there's "Thunderstruck" and "Stiff Upper Lip"

Ooh, ooh, and they're riding the Highway to Hell

There's "The Fly on the Wall"
And "High Voltage" kicks butt
And you know that song that goes, "TNT"
In a "Flick of the Switch"
Poor Bon Scott passed away
Then they got someone else and released Back in.....

(acoustic guitar interlude)

Back in Black, it's their best seller
Back in Black, it was a wonder

Livin' easy and free
Ask nothing, leave me be
And I got tickets on a one-way ride
Need no reason or rhyme
Nothing I'd rather do
And I'm taking everything in my stride

I'm on the Highway to Hell
I'm on the Highway to Hell

No stop signs, speed limit
Nobody slows me down
Like a wheel, gonna spin it, mess me 'round
And when I'm back in black
I will hit the sack
So I'm recharged and full of High Voltage

("It makes me wonder" section)

If you see Satan on your highway
Don't be alarmed now
It's just a call for AC/DC
Yes, there are two paths you can go by:
AC/DC
There's AC or you could use DC

And a bolt of thunder
And a bolt of lightning

A guitar's strumming, and it's Angus
Dressed as a school boy
You hear the "Back in Black" song's main riff
Electric axes make you deafened
And did you know:
That Highway to Hell's is a classic LP

(Guitar solo by Jimmy Page with Angus Young)

Roll tonight to the guitar bite!
We rock at dawn on the front line!
Like lightning bolts out of the blue
The sky's alight with guitar bites!
The heads will roll and rock tonight!
And, yeah, for those about to rock
We will salute you dudes at last!
We're just a battery for hire
Yeah, with the guitar on fire!!!!!!

And we're riiiii-iiiii-ding the High-way-ay.... to Hell-elllllllll
