The Lyrics

I thought it would be funny to sing "The 12 Days of Christmas" to the tune of "Stairway to Heaven," because they have the same pacing and similar chord patterns. From that spawned this hilarious new parody. Enjoy!
(Intro is played in the same key as Stairway, but melody mirrors that of Jingle Bells)

On the first day of Christmas
My true love gave to me
She gave me a partridge in a pear tree
On the second day, those
Pesky two turtle doves
And that stinkin' partridge in a pear tree

Ooh ooh ooh Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
She gave me a partridge in a pear tree

On the third day, and fourth
I got some more birds
Gave me four calling birds and three French hens
On the fifth day I shook
Saw mysterious things
I knew exactly what those things could be

(Acoustic guitar solo)

Oooh it's five golden rings!
Oooh it's five golden rings!

On Days Six and Seven
Oh, the gifts wouldn't end
And she got me six geese that were laying
On the eighth day, I've seen
Couple cows and some maids
And I noticed that the maids were milking

Oooh eight maids a-milking!
Oooh eight maids a-milking!

And the ninth day was soon
And then I heard a tune
Then I saw nine ladies who were dancing
And a new day would dawn
Tenth day wasn't long
And she gave me ten lords that were leaping

Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho!
Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho!

If you see these things in your stocking
Or as your presents
Just send your true love to the nuthouse
Yes, there are better gifts you can buy
But when time runs out
These people get very desperate

And it makes me wonder.
Hooooooo! Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho!

(Elev)enth day of Christmas and my true love
She gave to me, oh
The piper's pipin', on the tenth day
Of Christmas, I would get twelve drummers
They were drummin'
Ten lords a-leaping, and nice ladies dancing,....
Ohhhhhhhhhh!

(Legendary guitar solo with Jingle Bells in the background on acoustic guitar)

And there were eight mades a milking
Forget about the seven swans
They all drowned afterwards, don't you know?
The geese a-laying have to go!
Could I forget the rings of gold?
Washing the gold off's very hard
I can't stand the four calling birds
I got sick and made soup out of French hens
Don't let me talk 'bout the turtle doves!!

(Climactic interlude)

But I kept the partridge in a pear tree

:C) Very original, and somehow you made the pacing work without violating either song too much, although I guess that's arguable. Very good job with this one. You didn't sleep the night you did this did you?

This alternated between absolute brilliance and phrasing so awful that it was wonderful - lol! I was seriously laughing out loud at points and I seldom do that here. It was like "I can't believe he did that!" You've probably heard the "Stairway" version of the Gilligan's Island theme. This was in a similar vein, but much funnier IMO. I agree with 2nz's comments about pacing - it could have been better, probably, but with the task you set yourself to I am willing to give points for difficulty!! This was just great stuff!

Excellent. I LOLed more than once. I too overlook the pacing and give you 5s for originality and difficulty. Nice work.
