The Lyrics

Greetings! Top o' the mornin'.
And today's the day that every true Irishman is wearin' green.
Ireland is green
Like all wonderful things
That dumb frog's green and he's whinin' 'bout it
And he oughta be damn proud he's green.

I'm damn proud o' wearin' green
'Cause it's the color of the Emerald isle
Every other country has their red and their white and blue
And Namibia can't make up it's mind.
(Well, have ya seen their flag? Which is it?)

I'm damn proud o' wearin' green
With my red hair it's especially an awesome thing
And folks say, "Hey, you're Irish!"
And it makes me kvell with pride
Like every great American
Were all Irishmen.

Only green says Erin Go Braugh
Wearin' green is totally cool
And ya hear about Germany's Black Forest
T'aint black, t'is really green
Like palms on Bora Bora

Irish is the only way to be
The Presidents are just like me
There's Ron Reagan, Bill Clinton
Kennedy and O'Bama too
So quit bein' a party pooper, ya stupid frog.

Shiverin' Shamrocks `Tis Great tribute to a great People, Lord 2Ease ! ! . . . from The Avocado Isle . . . . I intend to visit IreLand one day, as my list contains the " I " Countries: Italy, IceLand, IreLand & Isra-El. So far, Italy is ' checked off ' my list !

Thanks, Esmy - if you go to Israel watch out! You should enjoy Italy with all that opera, etc. My agenda begins with the letter B as in Burbank - Baveria, Bora Bora, Botswana.

A day early for St. Paddy's Day - might as well have some green beer. Nicely done.

Lmao, okay, reading the comments. I was thinking, "Why do all of these parodies get such a perfect score?" And it's because everyone wants to be on friendly relations with everyone, or to put it more rudely, a bum kisser. Well, I can be on very friendly relations with everyone, but I'll still give my honest opinion. Okay, the pacing isn't terrible, but not spectacular. You actually rhymed more than Kermit, so fine, I'll say that the pacing isn't bad. But I've got Irish blood in me, and this didn't really make me go like, "YEAH, NOTHER ROUND OF DRINKS FOR THE IRISH!" However, for creativity, it wasn't bloody awful. It was mediocre. But I didn't find the song that humorous, so overall, it really doesn't work that well, not your fault.
The CrazyCam - March 16, 2010 - Report this comment
Oh, oopsies. Pacing - 3 and Humor - 2, I was kinda rushing, my apologies.

"green
Like all wonderful things

Indeed! (like, say, shells ;) And is it true that Irish lassies wear a green Erin Go Bra? And did you see Julia Robertson as Erin Go Braless-b*tch? ... DK that the Irish kvell, but hey...

DKTOS, but since everyone except TCC approved, I'll go 555.

@ TCC: Yes, some of that does go on. Others rate as they see. This writer is notorious for being nit-picking, and voting accordingly, but still seems to get some measure of respect and 5s.
Rhyming has nothing to do with pacing. Learn the definitions before you come in here "green" (ha, ha! I *kill* me! ;) and start throwing around words you don't understand.

The one thing you're right about is "it really doesn't work that well, not your fault.". Right, it's *your* fault. I don't think you "got" the idea: Black forest = green, and "O'bama" - LOL, the Pres isn't Irish, it's a play on the name, get it? ... didn't think so. Etc. etc.

Write some yourself; let's see how you do; then you can critique. Do you really feel qualified to do so if you haven't posted some of your own, so that we can see *your* level of expertise? It ain't as easy as it looks, friend.

Typo alert - I mispelled Bavaria. Thanks, Green - the Irish kvell in gaelic, but cuss in English. President Obama really is part Irish. Thanks, Timmy - have an avocado, fried green tomatos, jalapenos and some honey dew melon. TCC - The original song is more of a recitation and there is no rhyming in it. May you find iron pyrite in the pot (Toilet) at the end of your rainbow. The code is H8U.

Excellently written. 555 blarney stones

No, no, you misunderstood my point. I said the pacing on its own is good, but the lyrics that followed we're rather crazy too. The pacing wasn't perfect, but not terrible. And nope, rhyming is not the same. And no rhyming in the original song, so I just wanted to note that there was indeed some in here.
The CrazyCam - March 16, 2010 - Report this comment
Lol, and I knew it was praising the color green, but it seemed like it was originally just praising Ireland. Then 2Eagle took a new approach. The song is overall mediocre, nothing really bad, but nothing really good. Oh, I am a parodist, actually. Total of 34 completed songs. If I felt that I'd get fair criticism rather than hatred from those I criticized myself, sure, why not? I'll post them here.
The CrazyCam - March 16, 2010 - Report this comment
Aww, I'm gonna forget that code, but thanks, 2Eagle. I appreciate the generous offer. But it must've taken you a while to get the pyrite, so please, just find my rainbow and take it back. You need it. :]

So, you're saying that you feel free to take potshots, but not to expose your work to same?

I think you'd get fair evaluation from most if your own evaluations were more fairly-based, and supported with specific examples. Have you not liked *any* parodies here, or do you only visit ones that you can vote down? Fair works both ways. Show us what ya got.

...btw, hatred, or hate speech, is not allowed here. Any such comments can be reported to the editors, who will delete them. Comments must be relevant to the parody itself, not attacks on the author. Hope that gives you some reassurance.

I actually did post two parodies a few hours ago, but I guess they have to approved. Ah well, they'll pass through just fine. I only just got here, I am looking at parodies on the recent parody list. I've found some that have good potential, but none that are really great or outstanding. BTW, I'm only commenting on parodies of songs that I actually know, so if I knew the other songs, maybe I could recognize good parodies that were published on this date. I apologize to those, but I just don't know the original songs, really sorry. I'm sure there'll be good parodies popping up that I can actually like analyze since I know the original song. Lol, see, I knew someone would say that. There's no hatred/hate speech going around, alright? I may seem a bit rude in my comments, yes, just my nature. Hell, I'm a bit rude about my own parodies! But there's no hatred against anyone here, I don't even know any of you, lmao. So if you report my comment to an editor, I think that's a bit foolish, but it is your decision. (Ain't hypocrisy great, BTW? :P) 2Eagle, no hatred there, twas friendly backfire.
