The Lyrics

Animals are the niggers of the world
Yes they are...think about it
Animals are the niggers of the world
Think about it...do something about it

We mutilate their faces and stance
We make them slaves and still claim we love them
They can feel, very much like a man
So when putting them down, don’t pretend it’s righteous
Animals are the niggers of the world...yes they are
If you don't believe me, take a look at a slaughterhouse
Animals are the slaves of the slaves
Ah yeah...better scream about it
We steal their hair and take their children
We love our cats but still eat hens
Our pets at home are the only ones who are free
We should complain that they all deserve to be our friends
Animals are the niggers of the world...yes they are
If you don't believe me, take a look at a slaughterhouse
Animals are the slaves of the slaves
Yeah (think about it)

Meat is promoted everyday on TV
but we’re not shown the guts or stench
The babes of cows we conveniently call veal
While admitting that they’re smart, we still kill them as if they were dumb
Animals are the niggers of the world...yes they are
If you don't believe me, take a look at a slaughterhouse
Animals are the slaves of the slaves
Yes they are...if you believe me, you better scream about it.

I accidentally ran over a stray dog and two punks risked their lives trying to run me off the road. I have no problem with those cultures that eat dogs. Can't walk two blocks without one of those magically endowed "he won't bite" critters trying to have me for lunch. Dogs are of limited intelligence, operate on instinct, not reason, and have almost no impulse control. No wonder certain people identify so closely with them and prize them above their own children. Where I grew up, dangerous dogs were a status symbol. From the ghetto to the police department, that mentality still prevails. Glad to see that amiright does not have a censorship program. It is a perfectly valid word with a specific meaning that the authors of both the original and the parody wished to convey. Don't dilute it or let it lose its shock value.

I like the sentiment and message of this parody, and though the analogy may not be perfect, it's good enough for me to award V.M. the horns, the tail, and the 5s.
Patrick, I recommend to you "Animal Liberation" by the great Australian utilitarian philosopher Peter Singer. The central argument of the book is an expansion of the utilitarian idea that "the greatest good of the greatest number" is the only measure of good or ethical behavior. Singer believes that there is no reason not to apply this principle to other animals, arguing that the boundary between human and "animal" is completely arbitrary. There are far more differences, for instance, between a great ape and an oyster than between a human and a great ape, and yet the former two are lumped together as "animals," whereas we are considered "human" in a way that supposedly differentiates us from all other "animals."

So furries are wiggers then?

Human beings, at least some of them, are said to be endowed with "reason", the distinguishing feature between men and animals. It's easy to see that apes resemble humans more than they do oysters. It's probably why most human societies don't eat apes or monkeys. I don't eat oysters myself, but some folks do. It is getting into dangerous territory when you start endowing animals with "rights". We should get that concept more widely applied to people before we start concerning ourselves with lower forms of life. I think I'll go get me a hamburger. Or is that "hamn*gger"?
