The Lyrics

They fill up your dances,
All the swans in the chorus,
Every firebird in toe shoes,
Every wili in blue.
Prima ballerinas -
All want to dance with you.
Will I get my chances?
I dream about you.

Let's pax de deux -
We can do an adagio,
I can glide on your shoulder,
I can fly in your arms.
Let me jete beside you,
Let me pirouette with you.
Let's pax de deux -
I dream about you.

Come fill up my dances -
Be my danseur noble.
Like Nureyev and Fonteyn -
Etoile de ballet.
But you're only my roomie -
Would you be my life partner?
But that never will happen,
Because you are gay.

I guess poor John Denver is in the same league with Barry Manilow - people don't appreciate them.

Fine work on this...I agree, 2Eagle...Denver and Manilow have certainly made important contributions to American music ..I imagine their slightly cornball images may be a reason for the lack of serious appreciation...They're a bit like cartoon characters, and fair game for comedian's jokes and our parody material
