The Lyrics

Watching old TV shows can be kind of a trip, especially when it comes to what worked as a joke then as opposed to now...
When I'm watchin' old shows, never
Am I findin' writin' that is clever
Not complex fare, basic as can be
Which can end up awkward when their weight exceeds

Chunky bloke, 'fraid it's so
Want some grace? You shall not
Chips and burger jokes forever
'Fraid it's so, chunky bloke

Won't be in scenes drama-bound, sir
Can't be lazy fart jokes there, don't bother
Call him Tubby, Lardo or Big Guy
Anything but what's spied on his nametag, yikes

Chunky bloke, 'fraid it's so
That's your place and your lot
Greasy burger jokes forever
'Fraid it's so, chunky bloke

You've been employed for a reason dour, just trust me
Just comedy in the biggest air-quotes, such a shame
I don't really know why I keep talking
To this screen like they know what I say, what I say

Chunky bloke, may be so
Things will change quite a lot
Far less burger jokes forever
May be so, chunky bloke
Chunky bloke, 'fraid it's so
Old shows stay kinda locked
With the burger jokes forever
'Fraid it's so, chunky bloke

'Fraid it's so, poor chunky bloke
'Fraid it's so, poor chunky bloke

I know that this is "the Fallout song" for a lot of people, but I personally can't think of John Denver without thinking of the Monty Python bit "Farewell to John Denver". Speaking of jokes and how well they age...

Actually, "Maybe" by The Ink Spots is pretty much "the Fallout song" for a certain generation who played that game.
