Writin' So Madly

Oh the words just start falling so freely
From my head onto the page
One might think I'm going crazy
But I swear it's not old age
I'm feeling a little unsettled
But the words keep falling down
And I can only hope that I don't drown

Now I'm writin' so madly
I hope it's not badly
And the words they just keep coming on … on … on
Yeah they just keep on falling
And I hear the calling
As the story pulls me right along

There's a mystery going on all around me
The writers they all come and go
And there's noises from the garden
The frogs putting on a show
Still the words are flowing freely
Yeah the Pen is smoking hot
I only hope it doesn't take more from me than I got

Now I'm writin' so madly
I hope it's not badly
And I hope the story's not getting too long … long … long
But I keep writin' down words now
Though I don't know how
I'm gonna keep it moving along

There are things going on in the basement
You just don't want to think about
And yes the time is drawing nearer
When we'll have to take Cliff out
I've got it written down here
Oh yes every single line
But it might just be that we are running out of time

Now I'm writin' so madly

But now we're rounding third and heading for home … home … home
And as the last words are written
I find myself sittin'
