The Lyrics

I decided four things upon seeing the movie "Chicago" (which I did around the time The War began): It was a terrific musical, I love Catherine Zeta-Jones more than ever, I still can't stand Richard Gere (Jerry Orbach did the song in the original musical), and that this song would be perfect for Our Fearless Appointed Wartime Leader Who Must Never Be Questioned Lest Ye Be Branded Unpatriotic. Trouble was, I would barely have had to change a word. But what happens when "the old razzle-dazzle" has gone fizzle-drizzle? What happens is, there's my chance!
Gave us the old fizzle-drizzle.
Fizzle-drizzled us.
Gave us an act with lots of lies in it.
There's gray skies in it.
Count the flies in it.
Gave us the old focus-joke-us.
Stumblin', stammerin'.
Now we can see, no sequins in our eyes!
He was the man we all were trusting.
Then he went busting.
He's so disgusting!
Fizzle-drizzled us
'cause we now have caught wise!

Gave us the old fizzle-drizzle.
Fizzle-drizzled us.
Gave us an act 'twas so splendiferous.
Now we know it's just odoriferous.
Gave us a failed flim-flam flummox.
Flopped and faulted us.
Now we can hear the truth about the war!
We turned to him after nine-eleven.
Now we know he stinks up to high-heaven.
Fizzle-drizzled us.
Should've voted for Gore!

Gave us the old fizzle-drizzle.
Fizzle-drizzled us.
Back since the days of John F. Kennedy
smart Presidents have been a remedy.
Gave us a guy that's double-shammy.
Skimped on brain-usin'.
Why did we ever give this bum a chance?
We thought George Dubya
was a keep-worder.
Now we know he gets away
with murder!
Fizzle-drizzled us.
Fire burning his pants!

Gave us the old fizzle-drizzle.
Fizzle-drizzled us.
Warned us of dangers that were "nucular."
Also of gays and people secular.
Gave us the old run-aroundin'.
Tires still spinnin'.
Said we had to depose Saddam Hussein.
'Cause he had weapons that were chemical.
Shouldn't have believed his polemical.
Fizzle-drizzled us
and he's done it in vain!

Gave us the old fizzle-drizzle.
Fizzle-drizzled us.
Six long years he gave us some trickery.
We'd have done better if we'd had Kerry.
Gave us the old stay-the-course talk.
Hopeless slap-dashin'.
How can he not see that he's gone too far?
He thinks he's still got shot now at winnin'.
Maybe we will with... Hillary Clinton!

Fizzle-drizzled us...
Now let's find us a star!
Yes, I know, the original had four verses and this has five. I saw a way to use both "nucular" and "polemical" and couldn't resist. Some things haven't changed in four years: We're still in Bush's war, I still don't like him, I still don't like Richard Gere, and I still love Catherine Zeta-Jones. "But I can't do it alone!"
