The Lyrics

Lyrics to the original song "Starship" can be found at : .......... http://lyrics.duble.com/P/paulkantnerlyrics/paulkantnerstarshiplyrics.htm ............ Here is a webpage with Paul Kantner's own personal commentary on how "Blows Against The Empire" (the album "Starship" is from) came to be: ............. http://www.airplane.freeserve.co.uk/interviews/comments.htm ...............Here is a quote from "kireviewer" of Sunnyvale, Ca, United States, from the Amazon.com webpage for the album "Starship" is from, "Blows Against The Empire" : "This is not really the Jefferson Starship. This is a project from Paul Kantner and Grace Slick, with the help of alot of friends, recorded during a break from the Jefferson Airplane, just after recording the album "Volunteers". Starship, which evolved from the Airplane, didn't really become an established group until four years later. This album more or less marked the end of the San Francisco psychedelic and political period of rock and roll. After this the Airplane went more pop, the Dead went country and everyone else just disappeared. In a way, it does lead into the British progressive period. This a concept album about hippies taking off in their starship and embarking on a voyage of love and peace. It may sound like a silly, dated concept now, but Kantner is such a strong song writer that the words and music still hold up."
Whatcha gonna do when your e-mail starts a-smokin' ?
How ya gonna feel when your in-box starts a-chokin' ?
On the pile o'the spamshit
That's em-bedded into your mail server?
C'mon, FIGHT BACK!

Gotta fight back, save your disk for the mail that matters!
The spammers will drive ya crazy
So ya gotta fight back ya know (gotta fight back ya know)
Gotta fight back ya know (gotta fight back ya know)
Gotta fight back ya know (gotta fight back ya know)
Gotta fight back ya know (gotta fight back ya know)
Or else you'll pay (Or else you'll pay)

SPILLIN' OUTTA THEIR BROADCAST OF SCATTER-GUN BULK-MAILIN' RAGE!
A MILLION ROUNDS SHOT IN ONE SPAMMER-BLAST!
ALL THEIR CRAP BOGS DOWN YOUR PAGE!

(instrumental)

E-lectronic guar-dian filters,
Glistening like swords in the fiber op-tic light!

Broom the rabies from your machine!
Run those spammer-snots out of town!
Blind their vision with your high-tech ray-gun!
(Rescuing the farmers and the physicians!)
Yeah!
We gotta log-on right now!
Back into the network!
Beyond our own mice again!
Reachin' for tomorrow!
There's no time - for spam-slime!

THE MELTING MATRIX FEVER DRIPPING DOWN MY SCREEN
MAKES IT OH, SO DIFFICULT, TO SEE YOU
AND OH, SO EASY TO TOUCH YOU
I POST FOR YOU
LAUGH WITH YOU
WRITE SONGS FOR YOU
AT YOU
AROUND YOU
I LOVE YOU

(instrumental)

Hey, rumor's the spam'll be gone, but you got to roll with it!
An' though your spammer's head's blown off you got to go with it!

Roll with the digital flow,
Like packets in an Ether-net,
Out - the one remaining way to go,
Free - from all the spam you get!

An' the bright optic fiber is free!
An' it will spread the happy news: The spammers' gonna lose!
An' the optic fiber's news you will see,
Will carry you off in ecstasy!
And the Web you will see will be spam-free!
More than the Web you've known before!
Hey, loggin' on!

We come and go like a comet
We are Websurfers
Are you any more?

Command your screen and you make it glow
And you gotta fight back ya know (gotta fight back ya know)
Gotta fight back ya know (gotta fight back ya know)
Gotta fight back ya know (gotta fight back ya know)
Or else you'll pay (Or else you'll pay)

SPAM-SLIME SEALED IN A CAGE!
ALL THE SMEARS GONE FROM YOUR PAGE!

The first
E-mail one day was sent
Then
Spam was omnipresent
Finally
It was absent
