The Lyrics

Heyyyyyy,
Well ---

I'm the friendly hair cell
In your legs and hands
And on your scalp inside your skin

I'm sebaceous
I'm gracious
I'm a lovable gland
(And) I can make you look like King Kong's twin

I'm your follicle baby
I'll make you any hair you wanna grow
I'm your follicle woman
(And) By now
I'm sure you know

That I love hair (love hair)
I feed hair (feed hair)
I grow hair
Hair that you can style

Great Hair in heaven,
You know that I do!

( brief instrumental )

Well ---

So you want to be a porno star
You think electrolysis is good
But don't you want to stay just like you are?
You know I think you really should!

I'm your follicle baby
I'll make you any hair you wanna grow
I'm your follicle woman
(And) By now
I'm sure you know

That I love hair (love hair)
I feed hair (feed hair)
I grow hair
Hair that you can style

Great Hair in heaven,
You know that I do!

Oh you know I do!

( instrumental )

Well ---

I'm the friendly hair cell
In your crotch and hands
And on your back, arms, legs and head

I'm sebaceous
I'm gracious
I'm a lovable gland
(And) I can make you grow some narly dreads

I'm your follicle baby
I'll make you any hair you wanna grow
I'm your follicle woman
(And) By now
I'm sure you know

That I love hair (love hair)
I feed hair (feed hair)
I grow hair
Hair that you can style

Great Hair in heaven,
You know that I do!

And I'm your follicle babe!

You know I love hair (love hair)
I feed hair (feed hair)
I grow hair
Hair that you can style

Great Hair in heaven,
You know that I do...

I can't really vote on it since I don't know the music, but the 'funny' was good...probably would have been even better with the music. If I get a chance today...

Thanks Adagio - The group Ides of March had a hit with this song in 1970 - I think they were a "One-Hit-Wonder". Their sound is reminiscent of Three Dog Night, and also Steppenwolf.

Aggressive lil follicle, eh? Thanks for putting the URL on. Parody's great!

Don't need it, Johnny. "Vehicle" was SO overplayed on radio in 1970, it was practically a parody in itself... Ides of March were born out of the Chicago Sound (R&B with a brass section) of the late '60s-early '70s - and yes, vocally they are quite similar toThree Dog Night. Very funny parody if you remember the original, especially in its context. Good job.

Thank you, Adagio - I like the original song, it's got a great driving rhythm and a narly horn section.

Thanks, David - you are SO right, "Vehicle" was overplayed to the point of becoming a parody of itself. Thank you for the information about the origins of Ides of March - come to think of it, their brass section is somewhat reminiscent of the band "Chicago". And I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks they sing like Three Dog Night! Thanks again.

Ides- brings Blood Sweat and Tears to mind, also. I bet this parody it's growing to be a hit.

Excellent and true to the original. Vehicle was just begging to be spoofed; good of you to take the initiative like this.
