The Lyrics

So, "Uncle Mike," how are the nieces doing? I'll tell you!
In a little while from now
they'll be coming to the house
I've promised those girls
to treat those pearls
to a cradle-rock, no-broke boughs.
They climb up to the top
of their Uncle Michael's lap
in an effort to
make it clear, it's true
that they're now too big to do it.
Left sitting on the couch
I say, "Ouch! Girls, you're too heavy!"
At 20 months, I'd be a dunce
and never be quite ready.
I may as well go on.
'Cause I love 'em like my own.
Rachel again.
And Ashley.

To think that only yesterday
they slept noontime away.
Looking forward, sure
to a lunchtime pure
without them wanting me to play.
But they come and knock me down
as reality comes around
and with oh so much
of a big touch
on my lap they like their bouncing.
Leaving me to doubt
talk about the need for trussing.
How they attack my aching back
but around those girls, no cussing!
And in their hour of nap
they jump and scream and clap!
Rachel again!
And Ashley!

It seems to me that there are more kids
laughing in the world
so loudly playing.
With adults saying,
"What do we do? What do we do?"

(instrumental break)

Rachel again, and Ashley.

And looking back over two years
I enjoy it when they appear.
I remember how I smiled at each precious child
even through an uncle's prideful tears.
And at 39 years old
I wonder if I'll ever be told
that I'll have a wife
and a parent's life
which now remains hypothetical.
But since these girls are here
I do fear, won't long be vertical.
They'll go to town and knock me down.
Leave me black and blue and purple.
But when I have such a day
wouldn't trade it anyway!
Rachel again!
And Ashley!

Rachel again!
And Ashley!

Boy, the trolls are busy today. Must be the silly season. Anyway, I liked your parody.

A nice note to your nieces. Be sure to save this and show it to them when they are older.

Awww...this is adorable, Mister Pacholek. I knew from the start that your gruff exterior was just a show. Behind every tough guy is a little girl (or 2!) who can melt his heart...if he's lucky. =)
