Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"Skydive"

Parody Written by:

Susanna Viljanen

The Lyrics

A drug better than cocaine.
If you wanna get high with no drugs, you should try - skydive!
It's like shot in your vein when you jump out of plane - skydive!
You can fly, falling high, I don't lie,
Skydive!

When you are in free fall, it's elation will call - skydive!
Like touching face of the God it's a moment so awed - skydive!
You can fly, falling high, I don't lie,
Skydive!

But don't get overshoot, time to deploy the chute - skydive!
When you land at drop zone all your blues are long gone - skydive!
You can fly, falling high, I don't lie,
Skydive!

You can fly, falling high, I don't lie,
Skydive!

Can't write any real parodies? Guess you're Finnished!
Susanna Viljanen - July 17, 2015 - Report this comment
Haven't seen your parodies yet, Kolya.

Some of us live our dreams, some dream of their lives. I don't mind being envious nor I do mind being resentful but those two combined are a repulsive thing. It takes a brave man to sleep with a naked Finka. My hubby is one.

How much does Kremlin pay you, Nikolai, for trolling?
Susanna Viljanen - July 17, 2015 - Report this comment
Is Kolya a Kremlin mercenary troll? That would explain a lot.

RR, the BASE jumps are where I draw the line. They are both insanely dangerous, illegal and a reason to have one's jump licence revoked in this country. About as safe as playing Russian roulette.
Patrick - July 17, 2015 - Report this comment
Building a high bridge or skyscraper takes genuine courage. Jumping off one is just dumb. Remember the guy that walked between the two buildings of the World Trade Center on a wire back in 1974? That was totally insane. Shortly after September 11, there were entrepreneurs who tried to sell parachutes to people working in very tall buildings. So, there might be some practical value to the concept. I wonder if "Russian Roulette" was ever played anywhere on a significant scale. The standard Russian M1895 revolver has a very tight cylinder and does not spin freely. It was also a seven-shot, not a six. But I'm sure a "professional" can manage with any revolver. Ever see "The Deer Hunter"? I once read a book from the 1930's about a US Navy pilot. He and his squadron mates went to an air show and paid to parachute from a plane so they would know what the experience was like if they ever had to bail out in an emergency. There are many practical uses for parachuting, as well as adventure.

Be careful. Now you've got all the guys here thinking of you naked.

How utterly repulsive!

This is not parody. No laughter, no jokes.

Kolya: Perhaps your IQ ijust s not high enough to realize that a) cocaine is a drug and b) skydiving is a drug [if you are an adrenaline junkie]. The joke is, of course, to allude those two with each other. Perhaps you and the rest of the Kremlin trolls should stay on cocaine to get your high. I would rather get literally high to get mine.

Dumb people simply don't get witty jokes. Perhaps I should next write a toilet humour song so Kolya would get it.

Patrick: Yes, I've seen "Deer Hunter", many times. I watched it long ago with my dad, who was operations engineer in a steel mill then. So I can relate to it :) The Russian roulette scheme (Di-di-mao!) is creepy.
Sibelius - July 17, 2015 - Report this comment
These are the major traits of adrenaline junkies. You can look it up. Not good.
The people who always seem to have a crisis going in their life (real or overblown) or surround themselves with troubled souls who constantly need their help.
The people who are always rushing, with a packed schedule, and if things begin to slow down, they take on more.
The people who have dramatic conflicts with people in their lives, exploding in anger and otherwise causing unnecessary ‘drama’.
Students or workers who wait until the last minute to begin a project and then need to really scramble to get it done.
Callmelennie - July 17, 2015 - Report this comment
That last one Sebelius, about starting a project at the last moment can be caused by a variety of factors. One is anxiety. A person may be so fearful of failure in the abstract that they delay until such time as the actual reality of failure is staring in the face. At which time they're operating in panic mode and more or less screw things up and confirm their initial fears. A vicious cycle

Who listens to Chukhna anyway?
Susanna Viljanen - July 18, 2015 - Report this comment
Kolya, apparently you do and the rest of the Kremlin trolls.

Sixteen votes so far - it seems I have made an impression on you. Funny how just one Finka can be such a menace to you Kremlin trolls that you have to flood Amiright with ones. Do they pay you well at St. Petersburg? Or do monkeys get paid with peanuts?

Sibelius: I can relate myself to #2 and #4.
Patrick - July 18, 2015 - Report this comment
I would imagine that no one who takes these things seriously just jumps in a sailboat, or airplane and takes off. Such activities demand careful planning and accumulated skills and experience. That's what distinguishes sport from "Jackass" foolishness. It's not just the risk, but the ability and confidence to control and minimize the risk that brings the satisfaction.

@FinnH8tr you are dummy. Answer was to be: he died tragically on a sinking ship _transporting_ life boats!!!

Oderant, ergo sum.
GC'sGrandson - August 29, 2015 - Report this comment
This week I seem to be the on-call etymologist. Although I don't speak current Latin, I think that "Audeo, ergo sum" would have done it grammatically and nicely. "Oderant" sounds as though you are trying to say 'they smell". BTW, my take from water-sports is that one should always stay with the boat.

Thanks for the invitation to visit with your family in Helsinki.
Cunning Linguist - August 29, 2015 - Report this comment
The Finnish word for "family" is "perhe." "Vitun urpo" should probably not be taken as an invitation.

They hate, ergo I exist. Apparently the Kremlin trolls have indeed learned some basic Finnish profanities. Luckily there are no Kremlin trolls at the DZ.
