The Lyrics

I've never liked him, except for one night, his first show back from 9/11, when he was a total pro and totally appropriate. But starting last September, he's been totally on, first calling John McCain on his cowardice (brave for the Vietcong, too chicken to face a TV talk-show host), and now making jokes about the Alaskan dimwit and her unwed-mother daughter -- who still has far more class than her mother. Yeah, it was in bad taste. But they say all great humor comes from some truth.
His hair, when he had some, still didn't look good.
But to get people laughing, Johnny Carson knew he would.

Ooh, what a Letterman he was.
Ooh, what a Letterman he was.

He had Stupid Pet Tricks, and lists called Top Ten.
He'd do a bit called Dumb Ads, soon he'd do it again.

Ooh, what a Letterman he was.
Ooh, what a Letterman he was.

He wasn't good as Leno, soon Jay cleaned his clock.
But when John McCain stiffed him, Dave called John a crock.

Ooh, what a Letterman he was.
Ooh, what a Letterman he was.

Some crude jokes, we found them, the Palins got upset.
If they can't stand the heat, then, out of the kitchen they should get.

Ooh, what a Letterman he was.
Ooh, what a Letterman he was.
Seriously, where was the right-wing outrage when Letterman was making sex jokes about a President who actually tried to protect us from terrorism, back in 1998? Oh yeah, they were making the jokes along with him.

I liked this one, and I'm surprised that Dr Music hasn't gotten in somehow to rant and rave in this parody's comments. I personally prefer Jay Leno (sorry if I sound like DM by saying that) and Craig Ferguson as far as living late-night comedians go, and Johnny Carson for dead ones. 5s for you, Michael.

Good one - never seen him on TV myself but he wouldn't be doing his job right if he didn't bash the politicians. Chat/music shows in the UK regularly bash Gordon Brown & his cronies (the way they behave makes it impossible not to).

This parody is more fun than folks should be allowed to have.

if unwed mothers or innocent children of single parent families are a target, there resides a great portion of the liberal vote. along with dead people, illegals, and multiple registrants voting multiple times...generations of welfare moms being encouraged with tax dollars to create adverse conditions for babies, children, and society. but hey, they vote democrat so why not? awe heck, just abort them, easier . . .

I switched to Letterman after Leno left. On tonight's show he apologized because the joke just left a bad taste in everyone's mouth.
