Original Performer:

Elton John

Parody Song Title:

"Philadelphia Cheese Steak"

Parody Written by:

Michael McVey

I used to be a college kid.
You know the dorm food was so bad,
I'd call up the Pizza Hut down the road
I used to be a heart attack waiting to happen,
But the times have changed,
And my tastes in food have grown up as I got old.

What I really crave is a Philadelphia cheese steak,
Hamburgers no longer appeal to me.
Philadelphia cheese steak, piled sky-high on a roll,
A wonderful treat, like fast food could never be.

A Philadelphia cheese steak and a shake, that's to go.
Makes me think, in my younger days I was so blind.
Make it fast, make it fast,
Make it fast, won't you make it fast,
Philadelphia cheese steak I love you, yes I do!

If you choose to, you can eat your life away.
Some people choose junk food,
Some others choose the good old family meal.
I like living easy without having to cook,
Till the craving for a cheese steak struck me
So bad it made me squeal.

What I really crave is a Philadelphia cheese steak,
Hamburgers no longer appeal to me.
Philadelphia cheese steak, piled sky-high on a roll,
A wonderful treat like fast food could never be.

A Philadelphia cheese steak and a shake, that's to go.
Makes me think, in my younger days I was so blind.
Make it fast, make it fast,
Make it fast, won't you make it fast,
Philadelphia cheese steak I love you, yes I do!

A Philadelphia cheese steak and a shake, that's to go.
Makes me think, in my younger days I was so blind.
Make it fast, make it fast,
Make it fast, won't you make it fast,
Philadelphia cheese steak I love you, yes I do!

A Philadelphia cheese steak and a shake, that's to go.
Makes me think, in my younger days I was so blind.
Make it fast, make it fast,
Make it fast, won't you make it fast,
Philadelphia cheese steak I love you!
You know I love you, you know I love you, yes I do!

Philadelphia cheese steak, I love you, yes I do!
Philadelphia cheese steak, you know that I love you, yes I do!
Philadelphia cheese steak, dont you know that I love you, yes I do!
Philadelphia cheese steak, dont you know that I love you, yes I do!

Good job Michael. 5 stars. I have just added a new Shania Twain parody to the Shania Twain section that I think you would enjoy. There is even a link to a sample of the original song. Any comments or votes would be graciously appreciated. This is a parody of "Whose Bed Has Your Boots Been Under?" and although it says written by "Twain/Lange", it was ofcourse written by me.

I am surprised that no one has written a Philadelphia Eagles, Flyers, or Phillies parody to this song. Good job.

(ABC3-P) A bit repetitive toward the end, but I can't get tired of Philly Cheese Steak subs! This makes me want to eat dinner again tonight.

(ABC) Definitely creative, and I love the "Heart Attack Waiting to Happen" line in reference to Pizza Hut. . .very unique and fun.

(ABC3P) This is what I get for reading the entries in order. First Agri's pro-junk food spoof, and now I get an anti-junk food spoof. It leaves me very confused, but you still get 5's.

(ABC3) I agree with Red Ant about the repetition.

(ABC) Mmmmm...this is quite the culinary ABC round, isn't it? I agree on the repetition, and the pacing is a little iffy in places (but keeping up with Elton's mush-mouth is near impossible) but that doesn't detract from my enjoying it. I've never actually had a Philly cheesesteak, perhaps I ought to.
