The Lyrics

"I would call the French scumbags but that would be a disservice to bags filled with scum... [Howard Dean is] Gore Lite." --Dennis Miller, from his Bush-praising, dissident-, Democrat-, liberal-, and French-bashing routine given at the Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation's "Grand Slam for Children" benefit at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, October 4, 2003."This night is about charity - not washing your dirty political laundry. I love America, but if you want to know why the world hates America, I can give you two words: Dennis Miller." --Elton John, later on stage at the same event.
Hey, world! Welcome to the stages
Where we're raising money
For the children of Lost Wages.
A certain comic's treated us
To his brand of hate.
Well, he's a good example
Of why the world despises the States.

Oh, can they divide
And can they make us fight?
Oh, but they gross me out.
Denny and the Right.
Oh, they're hateful and horrible.
Oh Dennis, he's-a really crass.
He had the nerve to say,
In his Gestapo way,
"If they say 'Bush is Hitler'
Beat their ass"—oh, no!
Dennis and the Right.

Hey, boy! Who wants those opinions?
We're here for charity.
We're here to raise some millions.
We're here to spread a little love
And to sing a little song.
You're forgetting that it's just your opinion
And that you could be wrong.

Oh, can they divide
And can they make us fight?
Oh, but they gross me out.
Denny and the Right.
Oh, they're hateful and horrible.
Oh Dennis, he's-a really mean.
He thinks the French are chimps.
He calls the U.N. wimps.
I think he read it in a magazine—oh, no!
Dennis and the Right.

Oh, can they divide
And can they make us fight?
Oh, but they gross me out.
Denny and the Right.
Oh, they're hateful and horrible.
Oh Dennis, he was always cruel.
He used to bash both sides
Till something hurt his pride,
And now he's just another
Flag-waving fool—oh, no!
Dennis and the Right.

Denny! Denny and the Right!
Denny! Denny! Denny!
Denny and the Right...!

I assure you, Dennis didn't read it in a magazine. Old joke: Republican #1 says, "Our people should read more." Republican #2 says, "If our people read more, they wouldn't be our people."

I don't know. I seem to find Dennis Miller really humourous. Just cause he doesn't wish to be PC makes him hateful and horrible? At least he's for real and he's funny.

This was really well written. I'd heard he "switched sides", but didn't really know for sure. Anyway, good stuff and you can console yourself with the fact that there's really not a dime's worth of difference between the left and the right.

I thought I commented earlier on this, but didn't see it up here - have I been banned? Nice job. You know you're on when Guy comments (he wouldn't waste his time with trash) And Guy, I'm so glad to hear you like Dennis Miller - which means you have to hate Bill Mahr - and that's what I like about Guy - his passion is consistent. I hate Dennis Miller.

Look at it this way: Regardless of politics, Dennis Miller is far more qualified to comment on football than Rush Limbaugh. Even if Rush does look more like a washed-up football player. Why, he's even got the drugs to prove it! Start blow-dryin' Teddy Koppel's hair, this comment's done!

To Michael Pacholek: I agree with you as far as Dennis, Rush, and football are concerned. Dennis lasted two years on Monday Night Football; on ESPN, Rush Limbaugh didn't last two months. I'm supposing Dennis was smart enough to steer clear of the racist comments and even liberal-bashing comments while doing his football stint. Denny didn't start nourishing his inner right-wing attack dog until after he lost his MNF job. BTW, look for my parody, "Rush's Little Helper". (Click my name above the lyrics.)
