"Coffee Ignites My Mind's Revivin'"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Just a summary of my typical morning.
And for another song about waking up, check out Sleep.
I’m sleeping late, when I hear my mate
“Hon, you know how much I love you dear,
It’s seven o’clock, and I need a shot.
Gonna need a friendly mug of cheer.”

The old sun’s peeking through a window near the ceilin’
And our old kitty leaps from chair
The furry paws fall on my bladder and calls
“I want kitty feast to prepare.”

It doesn’t matter your sleep duration
Stop playin’ sappy violin
Coffee ignites my mind’s revivin’
Hold off with the decaf, friend

Sweepin’ out the webs from a sleepy brain
Wanna cup of brewed delight
‘Cause coffee ignites my mind alright
Coffee ignites, alright, alright, alright

Well I add half and half, no powdered fake
I’ll never use the folly of Coffee Mate
I will make a special mixture of the darker beans
I may fry a couple eggs and warm up andouille.

And on my way to town, if I’m feelin’ light
I may plow through a drive thru for another bite
I’m a sleepy guy looking for another blast
A strong French roast in styrofoamish glass

I want me some of that stimulation
A dose’ll keep my brain a-spin
Coffee ignites my mind’s revivin’
Fuel to make synapses grin

Don’t avoid the pour, don’t you yank my chain
Gonna drain carafe of life
‘Cause coffee ignites my mind alright
Coffee ignites, alright, alright, alright

Caffeinate, caffeinate, caffeinate
Caffeinate, caffeinate, caffeinate
Caffeinate, caffeinate

Coffee ignites my mind...

The best part of waking up was reading this parody.

Very well perked...I used to be a coffee hound, but two years ago, after my HA...I lost the taste for it.

I brew a cup everyday at 5:55! Funny, I just entered a Folgers jingle contest: ust caught that smell of coffee How it makes my rising shine Folgers is like mountain air so refreshing all the time Guaranteed good flavor Every day I can trust That first cup to my last Has great taste so robust So the days can be rough, But they start out just fine.. For mountain grown Foldgers spells "Ambrosial" in my mind. That savory cup of Foldgers, You can never get enough... For the best part of waking up Is Foldgers in your cup

Thanks for the comments everyone. I'm enjoying a cup now as I write.
Michael- For me to wake up and even read, coffee is necessary ;-).
AFW- Sorry to hear about the HA. Couldn't imagine my world without something dark and bitter... So do you have a perk substitute?
Mark, I'm more for grinding my own coffee. And for your tune, why not use an Ambrosia song (since you used a form of the name in the jingle): How Much I Brew (to How Much I Feel), Holdin' on to Café au lait (to Holdin' on to Yesterday), and Pour the Darkest Roast for Me (to You're the Biggest Part of Me).

An upbeat song/parody about coffee is something I have tried to write but never pulled off despite several attempts, had only this idea come to me... Excellent job Warren, 555 free refills...
