The Lyrics

lately...i've been thinking...how much my yard looks ratty
garden weasel...helps a great deal...lightening my backache
leaving...all the lovely flowers
yet lifting your crabgrass with power
pulling weeds all day...when they're growing wild

and there's no strain to bring you down
snatching up the clumps you found
till its cleared away and bared...with no trace around
and you'll beam with great esteem
the roots gone bye....your garden clean
blossoms...fully burst...with naught to smother

i can see you...sitting, seizing...dandelions, squeezing
the sweat is flowing, slowly slowly slowly
its all running down your body
toiling...on your greens and flowers
working on your yard for hours
why not spend your days..like i'm spending mine ?

cause there's no strain to bring you down
snatching up the clumps you found
till its cleared away and bared...with no trace around
and you'll beam with great esteem
the roots gone bye....your garden clean
blossoms...fully burst...with naught to smother

ground is stony...weeds can nestle...in a place where you can't grab 'em
your arms...and your poor shoulders...little blisters, wide and broken
while you wallow...how your back gets sore..no reason you should dally
you must get a garden weasel...they won't cost you lots of money

and there's no strain to bring you down
snatching up the clumps you found
till its cleared away and bared...with no trace around
and you'll beam with great esteem
the roots gone bye....your garden clean
blossoms...fully burst...with naught to smother

lately...i've been thinking...how much my yard looks ratty
garden weasel...helps a great deal...lightening my backache
leaving...all the lovely flowers
yet lifting your crabgrass with power
pulling weeds all day...when they're growing...
when they're growing wild

As Elton also sang "... go back to the drawin' easel, what'cha really need's a deise motor on that garden weasel ... it's still stony ground to me." But your parody weaseled 5s anyway. :-)

"...what'cha really need's a diesel ..." etc. Sheesh, when will I ever learn to proof before punching Send? Or at least learn to freakin' type. :-)

Blooming hilarious.
2Eagle - February 08, 2008 - Report this comment
Funny because the mere sound of the word "weasel" tends to elicit laughter.

Weasel is a funny word. I actually have a garden weasel and works quite well during our 17 day growing season. You have a great way of finding parody potential in the most unlikely subjects.
