The Lyrics

Enjoy!
I went into a science lab
On a field trip, in'02
And I saw a big spider there
Later I turned into a superhero, yeah
Mave a girl named Mary Jane
Red and blue is my suit, eyes are white

And I think it's gonna be a long, long time
Til this suit takes a trip up my behind
Im now a man that is a superhero
Oh yeah yeah yeah Spiderman
Spiderman springing webs out of his wrist bone

And I think it's gonna be a long, long time
Til this suit takes a trip up my behind
Im now a man that is a superhero
Oh yeah yeah yeah Im a Spiderman
Spiderman springing webs out of his wrist bone

This is the kind of place to spring my webs
Fighting a green goblin
And my friend Harry, is his kid
Then I fought a human octopus
I spring my webs each day a week
A spider man, a spider man.

And it took nothing but a spider bite
Til my name wasnt Peter Parker then
Spderman is my name right now
Oh yeah yeah yeah Im a Spiderman
Spiderman springing webs out of his wrist bone

Doc Ock has a machine stuck onto his spine
This suit does ride up my crotch and my spine
I hang upside down in the rain a lot
Oh yeah yeah Im a Spiderman
Spiderman springing webs out of his wrist bone

And I think its gonna be a long long time
And I think its gonna be a long long time
And I think its gonna be a long long time
And I think its gonna be a long long time

Johnny D - July 30, 2004 - Report this comment
Hi Jack! 4 for pacing since it's pretty consistently off, but not annoyingly so; 4 for how funny because, although the concept is somewhat humorous in general, there really aren't any zinger laugh-lines; and 5 for overall, since it's hilarious to imagine chubby middle-aged Sir Elton John swinging around in a skin-tight Spider-Man suit! So, 4-4-5 for a pretty good effort here.

I liked it fine Jack. I'm overlooking the pacing and giving you 5s anyway. This is a hard song to parody. Well done.

Jack - I guess twisted minds often think alike 'cause I see it almost exactly the way Johnny D does - scored the same also. I do agree with Guy that it is a difficult song to pace well.

Jackie: Spider-Man is a grrreat sub for Rocket Man. Fave line: "Til this suit takes a trip up my behind"
