The Lyrics

I've been thinking about this original song for a while now when I watch the news. And the massive Gulf Coast tragedy only adds to it. It took the worst national disaster in our nation's history to get Our Fearless Appointed Wartime Leader With a Purpose to cut short his vacation. The narrator of this parody was one of the 48 percent in November 2000, and one of the 51 percent in November 2004. Now he is not one of the 41 percent in September 2005. Begging the question: What the bloody hell are those 41 percent thinking?
Sorry, sorry sight.
Outlook for our land is gray
because on this summer's day
my eyes see Bush's darkness of the soul.

Blood runs down the hills
from men the insurgent kills
gives us pause and gives us chills
'cause we were told that "we " had freed that land.

Now I understand
what they tried to say to me
and how we suffered from insanity
how we don't seem to be free.
I did not listen, I did not know how.
I guess I'll listen now.

Sorry, sorry sight.
Folks on unemployment line.
Bush thinks all they do is whine.
At least they're not drowned by a hurricane.

This was so insane
vacation on a desert plot.
Bush goes there when he should not.
He likes the "chief" but doesn't know "command."

Now I understand
what they tried to say to me
and how we suffered from insanity
how we don't seem to be free.
I did not listen, I did not know how.
I guess I'll listen now.

For I could not see him
even when things looked grim.
And when no hope was left in sight
on that bleak November night
he took my vote as liars often do.
But I could have told you, Georgie
this world was never meant
for one as horrible as you.

Sorry, sorry sight.
People giving bold untruths.
Empty heads in empty suits
they spin the news and hope that we'll forget.

Like the puppet that we've met
only thing our land now grows
is distance of pretender's nose.
We're crushed and broken
waiting 'til he'll go.

Some, they still don't know
what I finally did see
of how we suffered from insanity
how we don't seem to be free.
They did not listen, they're not listening still.
Perhaps they never will.
Those of you who always listened... those of you who didn't when we had the chance but do now... and those of you who still don't... you know who you are.

Tragic, isn't it? The heartbreaking story of Van Gogh has become the infuriating story of our country under Bush... maybe I should call it the Reign of Terror, which has never truly ended. Wonderful, almost poignant adaptation of Vincent! 555... not to be confused with Bush's number- 666.

Great parody of a great OS! The sad thing is: People just keep buying into all the lies, election after election....and the only thing that changes, is that the gov't becomes even bigger and more powerful and richer....at our expense. Gee...Haliburton will be doing the clean up down there...what a co-inky-dink!

The Houston Chronicle -- no liberal mouthpiece, it -- confirms that the Navy has contracted Halliburton to work on New Orleans' port. You know what the difference is between liberals and right-wingers? The wingnuts make stuff up. We liberals don't have to. The wingnuts write our material for us! Every damn day, it seems. And to the fake Carol: We HAVE made our decision. We chose Clinton, and Clinton again, and Gore, and Kerry. I said last November 3 that those Americans who chose Bush deserved whatever came, good or bad. Well, it has been bad, and, unlike Kerry, Gore, Mike Dukakis, Walter Mondale and George McGovern, I refuse to have too much class to actually say the words: I TOLD YOU SO!
