The Lyrics

Road kill a grilling.
I cooked out this morning I'd run down a swan,
Though it died tragic can't waste that way.
I poked through it's skin with a fine steel prong,
I like the thighs barbequed this way.

It's road kill I'm grilling, (Road kill a grilling)
Now meat's costing more than I want to pay,
(Road kill a grilling),
That bird begins steaming,
(Road kill a grilling),
It's the key, marinade makes my day.
I see my marinade cookin' away.

Not many people would eat a fawn,
There's faces made as the brakes screech by.
But I make a haul when a condor's down,
And if it can't run then It'll be stir fry.

It's road kill I'm grilling, (Road kill a grilling)
Now meat's costing more than I want to pay,
(Road kill a grilling)
Carcas redeeming,
(Road kill a grilling)
Just don't see carrion walk away.
It's why marinade's makin' my day.

Marks of tires say this ain't old,
I ride in my Buick, just hit a stray.
I'll steam or I'll boil that old dead crow,
It's toes and eyes will make soup today.
Cook right away, don't let decay.

It's road kill I'm grilling, (Road kill a grilling)
Now meat's costing more than I want to pay,
(Road kill a grilling)
That bird begins steaming,
(Road kill a grilling)
It's the key, marinade makes my day.
I see my marinade cookin' away.

Hehe...I was just reading a bit about roadkill in Reader's Digest...too bad you didn't 'run' into any URP's (unidentified road pizzas) Good job!

A huge improvment on the original (Boston isn't my cuppa) and I'm a sucker for a good road kill parody, anyway. Well done!

HA HA - My son says he has seen this restaurant in his travels around Texas. Seems it's a long day trip to get to it but then most things are in Texas. It is about 40 miles SW of Dallas. And New England is one part of the US I just have never spent much time around. I spent a week in Boston once but did not have the luxury to sight see much outside of Boston at the time. I would really like to visit the rest of New England. I will hopefully some day.

The Road Kill Cafe that used to be in North Woodstock, NH was a chain throughout New England. They closed in 1999. It was my favorite restaurant, before it was shut down.

Hey Guy, I know you like comments so permit me to ramble a bit. First, I liked your parody and I like the band Boston. Brad Delp lived around here and his death was big news. I saw him often playing with his Beatles cover band "Beatlejuice". In a moment of bad judgement I started writing a parody that had the line "I saw my hibachi smoking away" but then I caught myself. There was (is?) a Roadkill Cafe at...Road Kill Cafe Route 302 Bartlett, NH. 03812-4026 603-374-6116. You pass it on the right on the way to the Mt. Washington auto road. Yes, you can actually drive you car to the top of the highest mountain in the East. Second, as for New England...come on out and I will give you the famous IB tour, which may include mountains, oceans, Fenway Park, Cape Cod, Newport, Kennebunkport and a drive-by Chucky's house.
