Parody Song Title:

"More Than A Country"

Parody Written by:

Dylan Baranski

To me, the USA is more than just a country: It's one of the most important things to happen in the past millennium. This country has set new standards for personal freedoms, given aid to other countries in need, and has made a huge difference in world history within a relatively short period of time compared to other nations. Sure, the USA's not perfect, but it's good enough for me & many other people. Besides, nothing in life is perfect. Whatever your opinion of this country, the USA is here to stay for many more years. Anyways, enjoy the parody, and a happy 4th of July weekend! DKTOS?
In merry olde England, the king did decree
The Anglican Church was the one way,
But there was a group that had disagreed,
They packed their bags and they sailed away.*

They made their own country
(Made their own country)
Where each person could live life their own way.
(More than a country)
The land they conceived
(More than a country)
Will live on and on for many more days.
I won’t see this old land fadin’ away.

So many people have fought and died
To protect this land and its ideals,
I’m glad I don’t get locked up when I try
To speak my own mind & say what I feel.

It’s more than a country,
(More than a country)
It’s a beacon of freedom, here to stay.
(More than a country)
When there’s jeopardy,
(More than a country)
We will make sure the danger goes away.
I won’t see this old land fadin’ away.

[guitar solo]

When the situation’s lookin’ bad,
I keep in mind this is the USA.
We’ve always made it, and I’m so glad,
I know that we’ll never fade away!
Won’t fade away!

It’s more than a country,
(More than a country)
It’s a beacon of freedom, here to stay.
(More than a country)
When there’s jeopardy,
(More than a country)
We will make sure the danger goes away.
I won’t see this old land fadin’ away.
*-Refers to the Puritans' disagreement with the Anglican Church. Not just the Puritans, but other religious groups came from Europe in order to have freedom of religion.
