The Lyrics

This song follows the times of those people who were just not born with good parents or any parents at all. Most these people will follow the life of the man in this story.
All along a populous highway, straight through Arkansas
You can listen to the leaves rustle though they have yet to fall
And you can think about the woman that you knew so well the night before

You walk into a restaurant, they quickly kick you out.
Your shoes' and shirt's too dirty and might make some children pout.
So you dig out the trash and you can't find such galore

Well, Here I am... On the streets again
There I am... Can't find a job
Here I go... At the bar again
There I go... Life's a Game

(sha)

You can listen to the echos as the muzzled truckers pass
They don't give one last damn about your terrible life and past
You just watch as they don't bother you, but they just want you to go.

You sit on another corner and play a brand new tune
The people just pass and see you getting so attuned.
They motion you to leave their life for your just a poor hobo.

Well, here I am... On the streets again
There I am... Can't find a job
Here I go... Drinkin' at the bar again
There I go... Life's a game

Out there past the city limits, just a couple miles away.
You know someone will save you from this terrible dismay.
But you'd rather buy a rope and just call it a day.

Later in the evening, you decide it's time to go.
You hook that rope along a nail and stand a chair under your toes
Your sweating and your stopping yourself, but your body moves on its own.

Well, Here I am... On the streets again.
There I am... Can't find a job
Here I go... playin the drinks again
There I go... Life's a Game

Here I am... On the Street again
There I am... Can't find no pay
Here I go... At the bar again.
There I go... There I <--(held out) go... A twisted game.

Sad but true. Great writing, though.
