She’s been living in her up/down world—
That’s because her polarity is “bi”;
One minute she’s low, and the next she’s high.

Don’t wanna lie with an uptown girl,
Don’t wanna give her an in-bed whirl,
Because she’ll go from hot to cold and then
She will get started on putting down men. . .
Beyond my ken.

I never know what
Can be on her mind.
I think I’ll take up
With another kind.

I think I’ve had enough,
Even though
I’m in love with this up/down girl,
But I simply don’t need her up/down world.
Tried to get pharmaceuticals deployed;
She wouldn’t take ’em and got sore annoyed. . .
Despair/rejoice.

Lights bright, then dim.

First when she’s talking. . .
As if she mainlined
Some speed—then shocking!

And so, it’s kinda rough. . .
Get rebuffed
Thoughts of love
With an up/down girl,
Who is living in a white/black world,
