The Lyrics

When Weird Al Yankovic wanted to parody the first Spider-Man movie, he did it to the tune of "Piano Man." I don't know why I thought of that this morning, but it made my parody sense tingle.
(instrumental opening)

It's 9 o'clock on a Saturday.
This morning at a museum.
There's a young guy who sees piano.
He plays, gamma rays go through him.

Suddenly, he can play any melody
and shoot sound waves from fingers and toes.
His powers are sweet, but he must be complete:
Needs boots and a cape and tight clothes.

La, da-da, da-de-da...
La-da, da-de-da, da-dum...

Save us a life, you're Pianoman!
Save us a life tonight!
Well, we're all in the mood for some rescuing!
And you've got us feeling all right!

Now, John at the bar, he got robbed last night.
Some gunmen came in, there were three.
And they took all his cash, even his hidden stash
and now prison's where they oughta be.

He says, "Bill, those guys were almost killing me!"
But a smile crawls over our hero's face.
There's an island calls Riker's in Flushing Bay.
Pianoman puts them in that place.

Oh, la, da-da, da-de-da...
La-da, da-de-da, da-dum...

Now, Paul is a real-estate fraudulent
who Bill busted for killing his wife.
And he's knocking out Rex, who's... out stealing a Lexus
and now will do fifteen to life.

And some creep who sells drugs to our college kids
will wish that he'd never got stoned.
He'll be sharing a drink called imprisonment
when Billy unleashes his tone!

(instrumental break)

Save us, tonight, you're Pianoman!
You'll save us, and that is the truth!
But it must be hard to change into costume
with a piano inside a phone booth!

It's a pretty good crowd for a Saturday.
The Mayor and Commissioner smile.
'Cause they know that it's Bill who will give us a thrill
and extend all our lives for a while.

And the piano, he still plays in civilian life
and with super-liver, drinks his twelfth beer.
Until he hears someone yelp, "Oh, somebody, please help!"
He'll say, "Man, what am I doing here?"

Oh, la, da-da, da-de-da...
La-da, da-de-da, da-dum...

Save us a life, you're Pianoman!
Save us a life tonight!
Well, we're all in the mood for some rescuing!
And you've got us feeling all right!

(instrumental close)
"Only the Good Die Young"? Not on his watch!

Michael - This is inspired! To me, a great piano/keyboard player is already a "superhero" of sorts. It's also my rotten luck, as I was bitten by a radioactive euphonium...lol. Enjoyable and well done! ;D

Another unlikely superhero. He can play his own dramatic music as he comes to the rescue. This would make a good comic book, or graphic novel as they call them these days. I could see this one going through my mind as I read it.

Loved it lots, Mike! This got me inspired as well. Let's hear it for Pianoman who saves the day! 555's for this heroic melody!
