I hear the new Twinkies have a shelf life longer than my current life expectancy. Still waiting to find out if the local plant is going to reopen. I guess it doesn't matter, you could bake them in California and send them to Kansas via mule train. Wonder how they compare to Little Debbie Cloud Cakes. I can't eat either one, so if someone out there is willing to take the risk for the sake of science, let me know.
Out here in Sacramento, both Hostess Bakery Stores closed and so did the Rainbow Bread Bakery along with them. Those were the only places to get Chocodiles which IMHO are BETTER than Twinkies: lighter sponge cake with cream filling covered in light chocolate!!! About $6 per box back when. Not seen yet and improbable for Safeway and Walmart. Oh, the LD brands are OK but generic compared to Hostess. Back in the day there was talk of Hostess Blueberry Twinkies but I never saw any. Also, am sad there are no Moon Pies in my area. I used to order them with Double Cola out of TN and shipped by mail- expensive!

I remember more prosperous times when I used to order Nestle Aero chocolate bars from Canada. I can find them in KCMo or Lawrence, Kansas, but with my condition, I'm not supposed to be eating them.
